DE BIJL (Sept. 2013) Office address CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis phone: Competition and Regulation department Den Haag Short bio Paul de Bijl is head of the department Competition & Regulation at CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis, the Dutch public think-tank for economic policy research, and visiting professor Regulatory Economics at the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management (Germany, campus Düsseldorf). He obtained a PhD in Economics at Tilburg University. His fields of expertise are regulatory economics, competition economics and industrial organization. Paul is a frequent speaker at conferences and roundtables on themes at the intersection of business and public policy. With Martin Peitz, Paul wrote the book Regulation and Entry into Telecommunications Markets (Cambridge University Press, 2002; Chinese translation 2006), which has received positive critical acclaim from academics, consultants and regulators. Paul has published in various academic journals, including Telecommunications Policy, Journal of Information Policy, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Regulatory Economics and Information Economics and Policy. He was guest editor of the special issue on future telecommunications regulation of Telecommunications Policy (2008). He is a member of the International Editorial Board of Communications & Strategies and the Editorial Board of the Journal of Information Policy.
