5 FACTS AND FIGURES Launched in 2005 Present in all of 17 regions of Québec Implemented by a network of regional coordinators After 10 years: 850 primary schools involved 630,000 students and parents reached 350 high schools Titre de touched sec5on typo Arial 4% to 18% increase in active transportation in the program s first year The impact is greatest among children aged 9 and older who live between 0.5 km and 1 km away from school and whose parents tend to commute to work by car. 20 HOW Addressing active transportation issues with specialized schools who think this is not for them. Proposing activities to experiment AT on outings when specialized school catchment is inadequate for active travel of students. Accompanying students with special Merci needs d utiliser integrated typo Arial in regular schools and programs. Assisting teachers to help them involve and teach the skills to all students in active transportation safety and ability programs. Identifying special environmental needs and lobbying for more inclusive environments (infrastructure, intersection crossing, signage, ). If an environment is friendly to students with special needs, it will also benefit the youngest, families, elders,
