Dorothy Killian Scholarship for Undergraduates - $1000 to identify, aid and encourage students pursuing a career in healthcare food service management. Part-time or full-time students in accredited two-year or four-year degree programs with majors in hotel restaurant, food management or dietetics programs are encouraged to apply. Preference is given to degree candidates enrolled in accredited four-year undergraduate programs. 2). Bonnie Miller Scholarship for Graduate Study - $1,500 to provide financial assistance for ASHFSA members pursuing a master s or doctoral degree in order to further their knowledge of food service management and the healthcare industry. Candidate must be an active member of ASHFSA and employed as a director or assistant director of food service in a healthcare institution. Candidate must be enrolled in a graduate degree program of an accredited institution in a management or technical discipline related to the healthcare food service industry. Contact the agency directly for applications INSTITUTE OF CULINARY EDUCATION THE PURVEYORS SCHOLARSHIP The Institute of Culinary Education 50 West 23 rd Street New York, NY (212) The Institute of Culinary Education, in conjunction with six key suppliers, offers $23,500 in scholarship grants open to those currently employed in the restaurant industry. $15,000 Scholarship for Culinary Arts Diploma or Pastry & Baking Diploma Programs: These 8 to 11 month programs teach the fundamental theory and techniques crucial to the development of a great chef or pastry chef. Tuition is $19,300 for Culinary Arts, $18,750 for Pastry & Baking. The scholarship covers $15,000. $8,500 Scholarship for Culinary Management Diploma Program: This 8-month program teaches the fundamentals of restaurant management, with an entrepreneurial focus. Courses cover marketing, cost control, facility design, legal issues, staff supervision and much more. Tuition is $11,000; the scholarship covers $8,500.

3 Who Can Qualify: All applicants must have a high school diploma and at least two years of fulltime work experience in a restaurant, either front or back of the house. Applicants will be judged on the basis of recommendations, a brief personal letter and demonstration of financial need. Applications must include: a. two letters of recommendation, b. a copy of the first two pages of the applicant s most recent Federal income tax returns, c. an official copy of most recent school transcript, d. essay, if required by specific scholarship e. proof of residency, if required by specific scholarship

You may submit a membership application along with your scholarship/internship application. Application requirements: 1. Active membership in WCR years of age or older (age 21 for wine scholarships). 3. Submit a resume with education and work history. 4. Enclose three letters of recommendation from employers/educators. 5. Include requested essays or curriculum where applicable. 6. Return the Scholarship Release Form signed and dated. 7. Enclose the $20 application fee made payable to WCR. 8. Optional. Any other pertinent and concise information pertaining to your culinary achievements. 9. All winners must submit to WCR a professional photograph, an action photo from the scholarship/internship and a one-page essay on their experience one month after their scholarship or internship. The winners give WCR permission to publish the photo and essay in future newsletters or post them on the WCR Web site. Extracts may be used to advertise future scholarship programs. Reimbursement of scholarship award may be held until all conditions of the scholarship are met.
