5 AAP for Minorities and Females (Executive Order 11246) Develop a Self-Identification process for Applicants and Employees. Prepare written Affirmative Action Program (AAP). Hold meetings to communicate the AAP to HR, Executives and Senior Managers, Hiring Managers, Recruiters and others. Document Action Oriented Programs to achieve AAP Goals. Document outreach and results of recruiting efforts to minority and female employment resources. Review job-related qualifications. Investigate areas of adverse impact and statistical significance. Schedule self-evaluation of pay practices and results. Train Hiring Managers and Recruiters. 5

6 AAP for Individuals with Disabilities (The Rehabilitation Act of 1973) Prepare Written AAP. Review company s application process for disability access including online systems. Document Reasonable job accommodations. Document outreach and results to disabled employment resources. Develop a Self-Identification process for individuals with a disability. Audit Recordkeeping (2 years). Includes: accommodations, applications, results of physical exams, involuntary terminations, testing, internal notes, selection procedures, etc. Records must be maintained separately from employee personnel folders. 6

7 AAP for Veterans (Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 and Jobs for Veterans Act 2003) Prepare Written AAP. Develop a Self-Identification process for Veterans. Post Open positions with the local State Employment Services (SES). Track responses. Document Reasonable job accommodations. Document Outreach and results to Veterans employment organizations. File and keep VETS-100 and/or VETS-100A forms annually. 7

12 Outreach Benchmark Survey An electronic Survey was ed to Gerstco clients and associates on March The Survey will collect information on the following: Identify organizations that Federal Contractors and Subcontractors currently use both locally and nationally for outreach to females, minorities, veterans and the disabled Feedback on organization s effectiveness of providing qualified candidates The survey will be opened for 30 days The results will be consolidated, published and sent to Survey participants 12
