This project allowed SIGMA to develop the skills to offer the SIS and CRIS suites as a service. 6

8 Two different approach PRIVATE CLOUD HE Institutions that wants a private environments for SIS and CRIS solutions. The hardware platform is shared. But all the technological stack and SIGMA deployments an only one client. MULTITENNAT CLOUD An environment where one single application can serve different customers. Each environment can be tailored (View, process parameterization, database schema). This model share hardware costs and maintenance of third party software and SIGMA product versions. 8

12 Cloud platform Motivation SIGMA CONSORTIUM January 2014 Most of SIGMA Universities needs to upgrade their hardware platforms. Funds in IT department each year are decreasing and its even more difficult to face with the changes in hardware and software. An on Premise scenario means that each university should invest in infrastructure and train their TIC department in the new application server. SIGMA started in 2011 a software as a service model, that let small universities to use the SIS and CRIS solutions under costumer licence. SIGMA s Board Member requested to SIGMA to develop a Service scenario for them 12
