Students with mild learning disblilities are assisted by certified teachers in the Special Programs Department. Students participate in the Foundations and Framework reading program. This is a extensive instructional reading program that uses literature to develop skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and written expression. Saxon Phonics is used in kindergarten through second grade. The K4-K5 students begin to picture numbers in their minds as they play with numbers and increase their number sense. Primary Mathematics or Singapore Math is used to equip our 1st 5th graders with a strong understanding of mathematics and critical thinking skills. Rocket Math is used to increase math fact fluency and automaticity. Social Studies and inquiry-based science are taught in every grade.
