5 Disaster Recovery - What happens next? A step-by-step guide from Green Cloud Technologies. Thank you for choosing Green Cloud as your disaster recovery provider. Our goal is your satisfaction and keeping you informed. This step-by-step guide details the process of virtualizing your servers in our state-of-the-art datacenters. You can also log on to and check the current status of your order at any time. Or, if you have any questions, us at support@gogreencloud.com. Step 1: Site Survey Green Cloud will gather information about the existing servers on your network, just the ones you want to back up. We will send you and your data vendor (or selected Dealer/Partner), a request for a Site Survey to confirm your server information such as quantity, size, operating system and necessary network and access information to get started. Ongoing Restoral Testing Green Cloud will schedule an annual checkup of your virtual server environment including a mock server restoration exercise. We ll update your disaster recovery plan ensuring your Business Continuity Manual is always ready and up-to-date. Step 2: Server Backup Green Cloud will provision a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device and ship it to your data vendor (or selected Dealer/Partner) for installation. The data vendor (or selected Dealer/Partner) will install the device and backup your software to send data to our datacenter. Before we can begin the synchronization, they ll have to grab a full copy of all of your servers and send it to us. Step 3: Installation During this phase, we will install a full copy of your servers in our datacenter. Since changes have likely occurred since our full copy was made, incremental changes will be consolidated to make our copy complete. Step 4: Mock Restoration & Testing Testing your new environment allows us to identify any potential issues as well as develop a step-by-step disaster recovery plan specifically for your business. Once our copy of your servers is complete, our operations department will begin a full mock restoration and testing project. Due of the nature of this process a true discovery phase there is no predetermined timeframe for it to be completed. However, we will keep you informed of the status of your mock restoration on a daily or weekly basis. When completed, we ll schedule a time with you to review the results and ensure that the environment is viable to sustain your business in the event of a disaster. With first party insuring agreements on Extortion Threat (for data from hackers for example), Crisis Management Expense (such as customer notification and credit monitoring service) and Business Interruption (related to downtime). And specific endorsements covering the terms of Virtual Servers and Virtual PBX for Data Restoration, Offsite Storage, Corporate Private Data, Software Copyrights.
