Used or rebuilt equipment is not eligible, and customers must include proof that the appliances meet all the required energy-efficiency specifications. Please note that funding for these programs is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis until allocated funds are exhausted or the program ends, whichever comes first. Anti-Sweat Heater (ASH) Controls Display refrigerators must be equipped with humidity-sensing controls that reduce the amount of power supplied to the heaters. Controls must sense the relative humidity in the air surrounding the display case and reduce or turn off the anti-sweat heaters of the glass door (if applicable) and door frame during periods of low humidity. Equivalent technologies that reduce or turn off anti-sweat heaters depending on the level of condensation on the inner glass pane may qualify. amount is based on the horizontal linear footage of the display case, i.e., the width of the display case. Please note that this rebate cannot be used in conjunction with the rebate for New Refrigeration Display Case with Doors. R7 Anti-Sweat Heater (ASH) Controls $25/linear ft. Installation process: Customer should consider using proper compressor capacity modulation mechanisms (such as variablespeed drives or cylinder unloaders), evaporator pressure regulators, and possibly resetting the case to higher suction temperatures when covers are applied. Cover must be applied for a period of at least six hours. R1 Night Covers for Display Cases $3.50/linear ft. Low Temperature R74 Night Covers for Display Cases $3.50/linear ft. 5 Special Doors with Low/No Anti-Sweat Heat on Low-Temperature Display Cases Existing standard glass door of a low temperature, reach-in display case must be replaced with a special glass door that requires minimum to no anti-sweat heat. New door must prevent condensation within the frame assembly. Refer to appendix for definitions of high and low temperature. Door s total rail, glass and frame heater amperage (at 120 volts) cannot exceed amps (per door). cannot be used in conjunction with the Anti-Sweat Heater (ASH) Controls rebate. Installation of a completely new display case is not eligible for rebate. Replacement must be a retrofit. R6 Special Doors with Low/No Anti-Sweat $100/door Heat on Low-Temperature Display Cases Refrigeration Display Cases with Special Doors (High Efficiency, Low Temperature) Install a new remote/high-efficiency, reach-in case, as described in the Refrigeration Display Cases with Special Doors table below. is for remote cases only. is based on the linear footage of the new display case. 7 Evaporator Fan Controllers for Walk-in Coolers and Freezers Controller must reduce the airflow of evaporator fan in a walk-in cooler or freezer when the compressor cycles off and no refrigerant flows through the evaporator. Controller must manage a minimum fan load of 1/20 horsepower (hp) when the fan operates continuously at full speed. Controller must reduce fan motor power by at least 75 percent during the compressor off cycle. Do not install the controller if any of the following conditions apply: Compressor runs all the time with high-duty cycle. Evaporator fan does not run at full speed all the time. Evaporator fan motor runs on polyphase power. Evaporator fan motor is not shaded pole. Evaporator fan does not use off-cycle or time-off to defrost. Customer must purchase and install this qualifying appliance between January 1, 2013 and December 31, Installation address must have an electric account with PG&E. High-Efficiency Refrigerator rebate does NOT apply to refrigerator recycling. Not all ENERGY STAR refrigerators qualify for this rebate. CEE-Tier 1 and 2 models do not qualify. Compact refrigerators (7.75 cubic feet and below), as well as keg/beverage centers, wine cooler/chillers and upright/ chest freezers do not qualify. RFEE High-Efficiency Refrigerator $75/unit CEE Tier cubic feet and above 5

Installed controller must include a passive infrared occupancy sensor to turn off fluorescent lights and compressor when surrounding area is unoccupied for 15 minutes or longer. Refurbished vending machines that include this technology are eligible for this rebate. Vending machine plugs into controller, therefore the measure can be used even when the customer is not the owner of the vending machine. Installation address must have a commercial electric Installation process: Control logic should periodically power up the machine at two-hour intervals to maintain product temperature. 9 Definitions Electronically Commutated Motor (ECM): ECMs are synchronous motors that are powered by a DC electric source using an integrated inverter/ switching power supply, producing an AC electric signal which drives the motor. Low Temperature: For freezers, refrigerated space temperatures are considered low if they are below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Medium Temperature: For coolers, refrigerated space temperatures are considered medium if they are between 32 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Shaded-Pole Motor: This type of motor is the original form of an AC single-phase induction motor. 7
