2 CONVO 1/ INTRODUCTION PROCEDURES AND INFORMATION ON SLAC GRATUATION 2013/14, Wednesday 01 st April 2015 AT BMICH SriLankan Aviation College offers you its heartiest congratulations on the successful completion of your studies and will ensure that your Graduation Ceremony will be a joyous and memorable occasion to celebrate your success with your family, fellow students and friends. SriLankan Aviation College appreciates your full cooperation in making your Graduation Ceremony a great success. We hope that the information below will be useful to guide you. 2. GRADUATION The Graduation of SLAC is scheduled to be held as follows: Wednesday 01 st April 2015 at 1500Hrs, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Bhaudhaloka Mawatha Colombo 7. On Graduation day (Wednesday 01 st April 2015), events that involve you begin as early as am, so you are strongly advised to make arrangements to arrive early in order to ensure a smooth day. Graduation Ceremony Date /Activity Wednesday, 01 st April 2015 Venue Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Bhaudhaloka Mawatha Colombo 7 Registration on Graduation Day Please register at our Registration Desk at BMICH (refer to directional signage as soon as you arrive to collect your queue card). You will then proceed to join the queue at the assembly area for the procession from pm. Briefing and Rehearsal 10.00am noon at, BMICH BMICH Brief Programme: Graduation Ceremony 9.00am -1.00pm : Registration of the Grandaunts pm : Arrival of Guests 3.00 pm : Arrival of VIPs 3.15 pm : Entrance of VIP / Academic / Management pm : Commencement of Graduation (Speeches and Conferment of Diplomas/Awards) pm : Refreshments End of Graduation Dress Code (Please see Para 5 below) Photo of graduating student receiving certificate on stage will be provided by SLAC Photography No photography will be allowed near stage inside the hall during the Graduation ceremony. Details on Graduation photography will be provided upon the receipt of Reply Form and will also be updated on our webpage 2

GRADUATION PACKAGE Graduation package (Graduation Ceremony with refreshments) details are as follows: Option One - Graduand + 01 parent (or Invitee) LKR 2,000/- Option Two - Graduand + 02 parents (or Invitees) LKR 3,000/- Both options include 01 free photograph of graduand receiving the Diploma / Award on stage. Graduation fees once paid is not refundable. Please ensure to mention your reference no (first page right hand top) in all your correspondence to SLAC. 4. REPLY FORM Kindly complete and return the attached Reply Form by or Post to: Postal Address Graduation Coordinator, SriLankan Aviation College, Airline Centre, BIA, Katunayake. Graduation2015@srilankan.com Together with the proof of payment to our coordinators before Friday 20 th March GRADUATION ATTIRE (1) All Graduands are requested to observe the following Dress Code for the Graduation ceremony: Graduands are advised to be properly attired as befits the occasion. Please observe the following dress code: (a) (b) (c) Dark coloured lounge suit with matching tie for men / national wear. Business suit /formal Saree for ladies. Dark coloured shoes so that it harmonises with the dress. (2) All Guests are expected to be suitably attired preferably in lounge suit / national wear for gentlemen whereas ladies have also to be properly attired for the occasion. Those who are not properly attired would not be allowed to enter the Graduation Hall. 6. REHEARSAL & BRIEFING ON Wednesday 01 st April 2015 There will be a rehearsal and briefing for all graduands on Wednesday 01 st April from am to pm at BMICH. You are encouraged to attend to familiarize yourself with the proceedings as well as the surroundings, however this session is not compulsory. Just follow the instructions of the Coordinators who are officers of the SLAC specially designated to assist you during the ceremony. 7. DURING THE GRADUATION CEREMONY Proper decorum must be maintained throughout the Graduation ceremony. Please be reminded that graduands are not allowed to leave the hall while the ceremony is on. 3

4 When the announcement of Academic, Main Processions is made, graduands are required to stand until the party in the Academic, Main Processions are seated. The same applies when the processions leave the hall. 8. CONDUCT WHILE RECEIVING THE CERTIFICATE You will be briefed on the process in the morning from am noon at, BMICH. If you are unable to attend the briefing, please follow the instructions of the Coordinators. 9. GUEST PASSES (1) Each graduand will be given two /three guest passes for entry into the Graduation hall upon confirmation of attendance by graduand. (2) Children below the age of 12 years will not be permitted in the Graduation hall. 10. ROLL CALL OF GRADUANDS ON GRADUATION DAY (1) Graduands are requested to report to SLAC Coordinators who would be at the Graduands assembly area by pm). (2) Please come early to avoid traffic congestion and car parking problems. (3) You are advised to have your lunch first before entering the Graduation hall as refreshments are not allowed in the hall. 11. CEREMONY PROPER During the ceremony, please observe the following: (1) Remain seated and observe silence at all times. (2) Hand-phones are to be switched off or be set in silent mode at all times. (3) Professional photographers have been engaged to take your photographs on stage during the Graduation ceremony. (4) Follow all instructions of the Coordinators. A demonstration will be shown to you during the briefing and rehearsal. 12. PHOTOGRAPHY (1) The official photographer appointed by SLAC will take photographs of graduands while they are receiving their certificates. (2) The official photographer will also be setting up booths at the BMICH on Graduation day to provide photography service to graduands. 13. PARKING FACILITIES AT GRADUATION VENUE There are ample parking facilities at BMICH for graduands with coupons. Please follow security directives and parking signage. 14. COLLEGE MERCHANDISE AND MEMORABILIA SriLankan Aviation College offers a wide range of college merchandise, memorabilia and limited edition items which are available for purchase on Graduation Day. 15. SriLankan Aviation College has previously planned to hold the Graduation Ceremony on 07 th of March Due to postponement of the event if you are unable to participate at the rescheduled graduation ceremony on 01 st of April 2015 please submit this form on or before 25 th of March 2015 for the refund of graduation fee. 1.
