Manager Testing/Training The Manager's Exam has been significantly modified as of September The exam questions now focus on issues of general concern to managers of licensed companies, such as: the eligibility criteria for registrations, pre-employment obligations and procedures, application requirements, record-keeping, and the procedures relating to disciplinary actions and administrative fines.
Manager Testing/Training Many questions are also intended to test the manager applicant's knowledge of the 2007 amendments to Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 1702 (see Occupations Code link below), and recent changes to the Board's administrative rules (see link below), as they relate to the management of licensed companies.
Manager Testing/Training "Please note that arrival 30 minutes prior to exam time is required by administrative rule (Title 37 TAC 35.61(d)(2)). Failure to appear at the required time will result in cancellation and you will be required to reschedule. The test session will conclude 2 hours after it begins".
Information For Qualified Manager's Exam The Private Security Bureau qualified manager s exam is given three to five times a month at the Department of Public Safety headquarters in Austin. Exams are scheduled for manager, supervisor, and consultant applicants after the proper applications and required fees have been received and when it is determined that the applicants meet the experience requirements for that particular position. Experience will only be considered when it is submitted directly on the PSB-02 (PDF) form.
Information For Qualified Manager's Exam The manager s exam is designed to ensure that every manager, supervisor, and consultant have a working knowledge of the rules and regulations that govern the private security industry in Texas, namely the Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 1702 and the Texas Administrative Code, Title 37, Part 1, Chapter 35
Information For Qualified Manager's Exam To this end, every applicant for these three positions must pass the same exam which covers the statute and rules (regardless of the category of company for which the managers/owners are applying).
Information For Qualified Manager's Exam The Qualified Manager s Exam consists of 140 questions and the time allotment is two hours. Question format is true/false and multiple choice. A score of 105 or greater is required to pass the exam.
Information For Qualified Manager's Exam Exam results are sent to the company mailing addresses after the exam dates. By statute, the Bureau has 30 days to notify test takers of their scores. If the score is failing, a re-exam date will be included in the notice. A re-exam requires a $100 fee, and applicants are allowed to re-test as often as the exam schedule allows within their 90 day application window.
Information For Qualified Manager's Exam Scheduled applicants must bring a copy of their invitation letter as well as their driver s license or state ID to the exam; they must also know their application or company license number. All correspondence from the Private Security Bureau will include this number.
Donnie s Strategy! There are 140 questions that must be answered in two hours (120 minutes). Do the math. You have less than one minute for each question. Carefully read each question and answer every question. If you are unsure of an answer, make a note, or make a mark so you can come back to it after you have answered all 140 questions. Do not skip any questions! Answer every question after carefully reading it.
Donnie s Good Advice! As you study this program, I advise you to have a copy of the Occupation Code and the Administrative Rules available at all times. When you read a slide and it refers to a Code or Rule, look it up, read it, and understand it before you move on to the next slide.
Donnie s Good Advice! As you study this program, you will see that it is organized by chapters. Each chapter covers one specific subject. All of the codes and rules for each subject are included in each chapter. For example: All of the codes and rules for Private Investigations is in the Private Investigations chapter.

Thank you! Thank you for requesting the Preview. I hope it gives you the information you need to make the important decision to order the program. The Qualified Manager s Test is hard. I look forward to hearing from you. Donnie Surratt
