4 Section General It shall be unlawful for a person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish, equip, use, or maintain mechanical (HVAC) systems or equipment or cause or permit the same to be done in violation of this code. Section Penalties. Section Mechanical Integrity
5 Section Application for Permit Contractors shall first obtain a permit before starting any work. Exception: Emergency Work (within 48 hours) Section Plans & Specifications. Submit plans for approval. (2 sets) Work shall be installed in accordance with the approved plans any changes will require the plans to be resubmitted for approval as an amended set.
6 Section Permits Fees. The fees for each permit shall be as set forth in Section 117 of the Building Code.
7 Boards and Licensing. Mechanical Code Review Board: 7 member Board Appointed by the Mayor Sec Duties. Board of appeals for the Mechanical Code. Advisory capacity to the AHJ in technical matters Approval of new materials

10 Section License Required. Except as otherwise provided therein, a person who does not hold a current, valid and applicable license required by TDLR, shall not install alter or repair any HVAC or refrigeration systems or obtain permits to do so. Contractors license shall be registered with the COH. Proof of Liability Insurance is required.
11 Boiler Code Review and Licensing Board. 5 member Board Appointed by the Mayor Duties: Develop and Administer examinations for Stationary Engineers licenses and Boiler Operating Permits. Review disputes arising between inspectors and any person or persons concerning this code.
12 Board shall have the right to revoke or cancel any license issued by this Board. Review new materials for approval. Appeals process from the Boards decision. Board meets twice monthly or upon special request of the Chairman.
13 CHAPTER 2: Definations Appliance: a device that utilizes fuel or other forms of energy to produce light, heat, power, refrigeration, ventilation or air conditioning. This shall also include a vented deco appliance.
