2 3M has been a leader in providing innovative worker health and safety solutions that help to reduce the frequency and severity of workplace incidents for more than 60 years. 3M has a hierarchy of controls that address multiple aspects of protection. These include engineering controls, hazard warning products, personal protective equipment and risk mitigation controls. From the prevention of slips, trips and falls to respiratory and hearing protection to transportation safety, 3M has solutions that protect your people and workplace assets and can help maintain business continuity. A Strong Tradition of Safety Solutions EMPLOYEE & GUEST SAFETY 3M WORKPLACE SAFETY SOLUTIONS We want to send every person home from work in as good of, or better, condition than when they arrived. It is imperative that we manage hazards in the workplace in a manner that will minimize the risk of an injury, illness or other undesired event. 3M Corporate Safety Manager RISK MITIGATION BUSINESS CONTINUITY 2

Combustible Dust Expert Forum. Washington D.C.: U.S. Department of Labor, Web. Hazard Identification Substitution Warnings Personal Protective Equipment Elimination Engineering Controls Administrative Controls Mitigating Controls A Focus on Risk Factors A fall occurs in the workplace every three minutes. US Bureau of Labor Statistics Hazard communication is the third most frequently cited standards violation by OSHA. assistance/frequent_standards.html Over the last 10-year reporting cycle, falls on the same level had increased 34.2%. Liberty Mutual Research Institute, Workplace Safety Index Insurance statistics reveal that fire is, by far, the greatest threat to commercial and industrial property. Workers compensation claims for slips and falls average $4k to $11k, whereas the median settlement for a litigated (retail) case can be approximately $75k. 4 Minimize Slips & Trips In the US, there are more than 180,000 slip, trip and fall injuries per year, which cost businesses more than $13 billion in worker s compensation.* Stairways, ladders, ramps, entry ways, walkways, parking lots, factory buildings, machinery, showers and dressing rooms are all potential areas of risk. Many of these risks can be prevented by implementing simple floor-level safety measures. 3M offers a full range of floor-level safety products to help minimize risk by keeping surfaces slip-resistant, clean, level and dry. Reduce the chance of an incident by keeping your floors slip-resistant, clean, level and dry. Transportation and Warehousing 3M Safety-Walk Slip-Resistant Tapes and Treads 3M Safety-Walk Slip-Resistant Tapes and Treads provide traction on slippery surfaces to help meet OSHA and ADA coefficient of friction requirements. These products are suitable for applications in dry, wet or oily working conditions. These products adhere to clean, dry surfaces without wrinkling, curling, tearing, shrinking or lifting with proven durability. Standard rolls and pre-cut treads are available in a variety of sizes, colors and textures. Custom sizes, pieces and die-cut shapes are available through 3M authorized converters. 3M Safety-Walk Slip Resistant Tapes and Treads Series 300, 500 and 600 have been certified by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) as providing high-traction. A wet static coefficient of friction (SCOF) of greater than 0.60 was chosen by NFSI as the criteria for high traction because according to NFSI, floor surfaces maintaining this level of slip resistance when wet have proven to reduce slip-and-fall claims by between 50% and 90%. 5 Floor cleaning products for a safer work environment. 3M Floor Safety Products Almost all slips happen when floors are wet or dirty (for example, contaminated with water, oil, food debris, dust, etc.).* 3M is committed to providing you with innovative solutions for improving the safety and productivity of your operations, while enhancing the cleanliness and performance of your working environment. You can depend on 3M Floor Safety Products each and every day, backed with the knowledge, integrity and service you expect from 3M. Convenient fix for safety and appearance. 3M Concrete Repair Cracks and spalls in concrete floors are a potential safety risk, as well as an eyesore. 3M Concrete Repair is easy to use just clean the damaged area and fill. The repair hardens in as little as five minutes, reducing the risk of a trip and saving you time and money. It s not just a mat, it s a system. 3M Nomad Entrance Mats Engineered to create a welcoming, safe entrance area for visitors by reducing the risk of slip incidents, 3M Nomad Entrance Mats combine attractive styling with exceptional performance to help reduce maintenance costs and increase safety. 3M Nomad Entrance Mats trap, hold and hide dirt and water to maintain a clean and safe environment. Not only do they help provide a clean appearance, but they also help to reduce slip and fall incidents. Minimizing the amount of water and dirt tracked into a facility can also reduce damage to floor finishes and reduce the amount of time needed to clean the floors. By decreasing the frequency at which floors need to be stripped, re-coated, and cleaned, you can also decrease the amount of time, energy, and chemicals needed to carry out these operations. 3M Nomad Scraper Matting Vinyl Loop 3M Nomad Scraper Matting Z-web 3M Nomad and 3M Safety-Walk vinyl matting has been certified by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) as providing a high traction backing. NFSI tested these 3M Mats using its NFSI 101-C Test Method for Measuring Dry Transitional Coefficient of Friction (TCOF) of Floor Mat Backing Materials and found each mat to have a TCOF of greater than According to NFSI, mats lacking the high-traction backing offered by 3M Matting are more prone to movement, which can increase the risk of migration, buckling, and curling, which, in turn, can contribute to slip, trips, and falls. * Slips and Trips: The Importance of Floor Cleaning. 6 Simplify Spill Management Timely response to spills is an important aspect of any slip, trip and fall mitigation program, as well as any environmental protection program. 3M Sorbents can be used in a wide variety of applications ranging from simple maintenance to emergency spill cleanup. Our sorbents are engineered to be used for specific jobs and materials. Some can be used for general maintenance applications while others are designed to handle petroleum or chemical spills and cleanup. Pick the right product for the application. Many convenient formats rolls, pads, booms, pillows, rugs and drum covers are available to meet your needs. Or choose a multi-format sorbent, such as 3M Folded Sorbent, to meet a variety of needs and save on inventory. In addition, many 3M sorbents may be reused. Waste can be minimized through compaction and incineration after fluids are removed. Absorb leaks before they become a bigger hazard. 3M Maintenance Sorbents Designed to absorb non-aggressive liquids*, these sorbents are lightweight, versatile and take just minutes to put in place. 3M Maintenance Sorbents are low dust and contain no abrasive granules that can damage expensive equipment. 3M sorbents can be wrung out and reused numerous times with virtually no loss of sorbent capacity. When it is time to dispose of them, they can be incinerated or fuel blended. 6 * Non-aggressive liquids are those used in daily operations which do not typically require the use of personal protective equipment and can include: oils, coolants, cutting fluids, aqueous-based liquids and petroleum-based products.
7 Solutions for emergency response flexibility. 3M Folded Sorbent Spill Kits Available with either 3M Chemical Sorbents or 3M Petroleum Sorbents, each spill kit is self-contained in an element-resistant drum for easy storage and color coded for easy identification ideal for rapid response. With all the features of 3M s folded sorbents, they can be used for most hazardous chemicals. Temporary disposal bags included. 3M Spill Response Packs Each spill response pack is compact for easy storage and mobility and is designed to quickly absorb and contain small spills and leaks. Ideal for use in labs, shipping docks, trucks and other areas where hazardous chemicals are shipped, stored or transferred. Temporary disposal bags included. For added safety, the outside of carrying case functions as a warning sign. The safer choice. 3M Chemical Sorbents 3M Chemical Sorbents are powerful enough to handle most acids (including hydrofluoric acid), bases, coolants and most hazardous fluids while remaining resistant to chemical reactions. They will also absorb petroleum-based fluids, non-aggressive chemicals and aqueous-based solutions, reducing the need to stock several different sorbent types for emergency spill response. Control, cleanup and recover. 3M Oil and Petroleum Sorbents 3M Oil and Petroleum Sorbents are made from an innovative microfiber material which contains millions of tiny pockets that absorb and hold petroleum-based liquids. They are low dust and contain no abrasive granules that can damage expensive equipment, making them ideal for cleanup of in-plant spills under leaking machinery. They allow you to reclaim the oil for easy recycling and reuse. After the fluid is removed there is less volume for disposal, and they can be incinerated. 7
8 Increase Hazard Awareness To help keep your workplace safe, it s important to communicate safety messages in an unmistakable way. 3M offers a wide array of products that allow you to clearly identify hazards and promote safety, helping to reduce the chances of an incident. Identify and limit access to hazardous areas. Scotch Barricade Tapes Barricade tapes can be used for notification of restricted access to hazardous areas, to manage access to work sites, to warn pedestrian traffic or to communicate your safety message. They are available in a variety of sizes, thicknesses and materials with various optional standard messages. Select varieties of Scotch Barricade Tapes are also available in custom printed options to meet your specific marking needs. Enhance nighttime reflective brightness. 3M Scotchlite Reflective Safety Tapes Highly flexible, durable tapes designed for areas that require bright nighttime light reflectivity, which helps to increase safety. Used for reflective brightness on signs, transportation equipment, parking lot markers and more. Available in a variety of colors. 8
9 Use bright colors to mark floors, physical hazards and equipment. 3M Vinyl Safety Tapes 3M Vinyl Safety Tapes are durable and can be applied in minutes. Tough vinyl resists tearing, scuffing, moisture, weathering and most acids and alkaline. The tape s flex and stretch properties coupled with excellent holding strength make it easy to place attractive markings with straight, sharp lines, even around corners, curves and irregular surfaces. The vivid colors are long-lasting and comply with OSHA and ANSI for hazard marking. When it s time to remove, the tape simply peels off. Lock in safety. 3M PanelSafe Lockout System A permanently installed circuit breaker lockout system, the 3M PanelSafe Lockout System mechanically prevents the movement of breaker handles from the off position to the on position with energy isolating lockout pins. Once installed, 3M PanelSafe, which fits all brands and models, completely eliminates the need for employees to constantly carry numerous lockout devices. Those authorized to perform a lockout function need only carry their lock and tag. Meets OSHA standard
