2 c. explaining information d. gathering and compiling of data e. analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks and at least one year of such experience being in an income maintenance program 4. Graduation from high school and three years of professional, clerical or other public contact experience which includes: a. negotiating b. interviewing c. explaining information d. gathering and compiling of data e. analysis of date and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks College coursework will substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis; however, it will be necessary for the number of quarter/semester hours to be indicated on the application order to receive credit. In computing this experience: Experience: 30 SH/45QH equals one year 20 SH/30QH equals eight months 15 SH/22 ½ QH equals six months 10 SH/15QH equals four months No credit is given for less than 10 SH/15QH When reviewing experience that fits paraprofessional, clerical, other public contact experience be sure that it support experience which includes: negotiating interviewing explaining information gathering and compiling of data analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks The supportive experience does not have to be all inclusive of the different areas identified, but does need to be detailed sufficiently to be representative. It may also require that percentages of time be included to credit only partial employment when more than one year/role is reflected. In addition to the Associate Degree programs listed in the job specification (Associate Degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science or a closely-related curriculum), the following information: When reviewing the experience beyond high school, an individual who has one year of such experience in an income maintenance program, only needs one additional year of required experience instead of a total of three years. Note: This experience must be in the Income Maintenance program and not in other areas such as services, child support enforcement, and administration. This one year of experience in an Income Maintenance program is noted as specific experience while all experience outside of an Income Maintenance program is seen as general experience. *Social work experience will not substitute for the required income maintenance experience.

Census interviewers 5. Legal aides gathering information/researching 6. Customer Service Representative 7. Billing clerks 8. Insurance clerks 9. Accounting clerks/technicians 10. Bookkeeper 11. Payroll clerks 12. Statistical clerks 13. Car salesman 14. Computer operators running programs, statistics, etc. 15. Public Information Assistant IV 16. Clerical experience in an Income Maintenance program 17. Child Support Agent INCOME MAINTENANCE CASEWORKER TECHNICIAN/I The following types of work experience are normally not applicable: 1. Waiters/waitress 2. Telephone/switchboard operators 3. Teacher assistance 4. Nurses aide 5. Hostesses in restaurants 6. Headstart teachers 7. Cashiers 8. Dental assistants 9. Factory/industrial workers 10. Truck drivers 11. Aides
4 INCOME MAINTENANCE CASEWORKER II, III INCOME MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR I, II, III INCOME MAINTENANCE INVESTIGATOR I, I INCOME MAINTENANCE INVESTIGATOR SUPERVISOR I, II For these classes the applicant must meet the minimum for the Income Maintenance Caseworker I and have the following additional experience: 1. Income Maintenance Caseworker II one year of experience as an IMC or ES 2. Income Maintenance Caseworker III two years of experience as an IMC or ES 3. Income Maintenance Supervisor I same as IMC III 4. Income Maintenance Supervisor II threes years of experience as an IMC, IM Investigator, ES, or Eligibility Investigator 5. Income Maintenance Supervisor III four years of experience in an Income Maintenance program, including one year of supervisory experience in an IM or service program 6. Income Maintenance Investigator I, II and Income Maintenance Investigator Supervisor I, II require IM experience; number of years/months depend on level of position and education level of applicant (refer to class specification(s) for specifics) There is no substitution for the experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker at the II level or higher (may be called a Social Services Eligibility Specialist from previous years or by another class title in substantially equivalent or out-of-state service, but the role would be the same). A four-year degree will not substitute for the experience beyond the I level. The role of Income Maintenance Technician or clearly identified Eligibility Specialist I experience in the Low Income Energy Assistance program will not be creditable for the IMC II or higher. Credit towards qualifying for IM Supervisor can be given for the IMC III classification if functioning in a Leadworker capacity (no credit will be for IMC III s that are out stationed, i.e. Health Department, hospital). Applicants will need to provide the % of time spent in leadworker functions (training, 2 nd party reviews, etc.) and this amount of time can be credited as qualifying for IMC Supervisor. Work-against: HUMAN RESOURCES PLACEMENT SPECIALIST (HRPS) Four-year degree fully qualifies Human Services Associate Applied Science Degree (with practicum/internship): IMC I w/a for 2 years Human Services Associate Applied Science Degree (w/o practicum/internship): IMC I w/a for 3 years High school: IMC I w/a for 4 years *Applicants must minimumally qualify for IMC I
5 COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT CASE MANAGER (CECM) Work-against: 4-year human services degree: Human Resources Placement Specialist w/a for 2 years 4-year non-human services degree Human Resources Placement Specialist w/a for 3 years Human Services Associate Applied Science Degree: IMC I w/a II for 1 year IMC II w/a for 3 years High school: IMC I w/a for 1 year IMC II w/a for 5 years *Applicants must minimumally qualify for the HRPS and/or IMC I Educational requirements: CHILD SUPPORT AGENT I 1. Graduation from a four-year college/university closely-related degree and one year of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary or legal work 3. Graduation from highs school and two years of the above experience Educational requirements: CHILD SUPPORT AGENT II 1. Graduation from a four-year college/university and six months of on-the-job training or six months of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary or legal work 2. An Associate Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Law Enforcement or a closelyrelated degree and two years of the above experience 3. Graduation from high school and three years of the above experience Examples of closely-related associate degrees: Criminal Justice, Paralegal Experience: Examples of experience: 1. Eligibility: IMC 2. Investigative: Detective/police officer (if doing investigations), CPS Social worker, EEOC Investigator, Fraud Investigator 3. Judiciary/legal work: Legal researcher, paralegal (not legal secretary)
6 The following IV-D support experience can be credited as qualifying for child support agent: 1. Distribution Unit 50% 2. Interstate Services (state office) 50% 3. Location 30% 4. IV and V level support positions in a local IV-D Unit 50% basis Work experience at the OSSOG Level III will be reviewed and credited on a case-by-case Social Worker experience: Social Work experience in a county DSS will be credited at 50% with a maximum of one year experience UNLESS SW experience is in CPS Investigations or APS then 100% credit will be given as qualifying for a CSA. Education requirements: LEAD CHILD SUPPORT AGENT CHILD SUPPORT SUPERVISOR I, II, III Lead Child Support Agent: 1. Graduation from a four-year college/university and one year IV-D experience closely-related degree and two years of experience* and one year in IV-D 3. High school graduation and three years of experience* and one year in IV-d Child Support Supervisor I: 1. Graduation from a four-year college/university plus one and one half years of experience in the IV-D program closely-related degree and two and one half years of experience*, including one year of IV-D experience 3. High school graduation and four and one half years of experience*, including on year of IV- D experience Child Support Supervisor II: 1. Graduation from a four-year college/university plus two and one half years experience n the IV-D program closely-related degree and three years of experience*, including one year of IV-D experience 3.
