2 Created in 1990 as Lovelace Clinic Foundation Early years: national pioneers with Lovelace in provider-based disease management Now known as LCF, and is led by large community Board (35-40) representing all major stakeholders
3 A critical factor--governor s designation of LCF/NMHIC as state s official health information exchange network for ARRA purposes Positioned NMHIC and LCF to apply successfully for federal State HIE funding, SSA funding, and HIT Regional Extension Center funding Help from the State, the Congressional Delegation, and our community partners (NMMRA, NMPCA) and stakeholders was essential. 3

5 Statewide public health clinic system Serves everyone Family planning services Immunizations STD screening and treatment Women, Infants and Children program Breast cancer screening 9,000 encounters per month
6 All clinics use EMR and Practice Management system All clinics generate invoices for services electronically All clinics participate in electronic billing (through third party clearinghouse)
7 All clinics will join HIE State Scientific Lab will join HIE Public Health supports the use of HIE for surveillance and reportable conditions Expansion of HIE to include filtering for certain conditions Operations begin June, 2010 Expansion of HIE to include reporting of all ED visits Possible expansion to include all hospital discharge data
