To amend the Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act and the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1 to authorize the use of grant funds for bullying prevention, and for other purposes. IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DECEMBER, 00 Ms. LINDA T. SÁNCHEZ of California (for herself and Mr. QUINN) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Education and the Workforce, and in addition to the Committee on the Judiciary, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned A BILL To amend the Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act and the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1 to authorize the use of grant funds for bullying prevention, and for other purposes. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the Bullying Prevention for School Safety and Crime Reduction Act of 00.
2 SEC.. AMENDMENTS TO SAFE AND DRUG-FREE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES ACT REGARDING BUL- LYING. (a) AMENDMENTS TO SAFE AND DRUG-FREE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES ACT. Part A of title IV of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1 (0 U.S.C. 1 et seq.; commonly referred to as the Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act ) is amended (1) in the matter preceding paragraph (1) in section 00, and in sections (a)()(a), (c)()(d)(ii), (b)(1)(c)(i), and (b)()(a)(i), by striking violence and inserting violence and bullying ; () by striking the term drug and violence prevention each place such term appears and inserting drug, violence, and bullying prevention, including in sections 00(1), 00(), 00(), (a)(), (a)(), (c)()(d), (a)(), (a)(), (a)(), (a)(), (a)(1), (a)(1), (c)(1)(a), (d)(), (d)(), (a)(1)(a), (b)()(b), (b)()(c), (b)()(d), (b)()(e), (d), (a)(1)(b), (a)(1), (a)(), and (a)(); HR IH
