2 Introduction to Crystal Report SAP Crystal Reports is designed to work with your database to help you analyze and interpret important information. Crystal Reports makes it easy to create simple reports, and, it also has the comprehensive tools you need to produce complex or specialized reports. Create any report you can imagine Crystal Reports is designed to produce the report you want from virtually any data source. Built-in report experts guide you step by step through building reports and completing common reporting tasks. Formulas, cross-tabs, subreports, and conditional formatting help make sense of data and uncover important relationships that might otherwise be hidden. Geographic maps and graphs communicate information visually when words and numbers are simply not enough. Extend reporting to the Web The flexibility of Crystal Reports doesn't end with creating reports your reports can be published in a variety of formats including Microsoft Word and Excel, and even over the Web. Advanced Web reporting lets other members of your workgroup view and update shared reports inside their web browser. 3 Interaction with Operational Crystal Report To open Crystal Report go to Public Folders->Crystal Reports ->Feature Samples directory. Let s open Drilldown Crystal report by double clicking on it. So in this Drilldown report we can see Country wise Total Order Amount, Number of Orders and Average Order Amount. We can see toolbar tab with functionalities like Go Forward, Go Back, Print, Refresh, Export, Page Navigation, Zoom and etc.

4 Here we have Drilldown functionality. We can Drilldown to Region from Country by clicking on Country. Let s click on a country Canada to Drilldown. Now, we can see Region wise Total Order Amount, Number of Orders and Average Order Amount. From here we can Drilldown to see Region wise Customer Name and Order details. Let s click on the Region BC to Drilldown. We can Drilldown from here to see Order Numbers and Order Details for any Particular Customer.

5 To go back by Drilling Up we can select Region Category from the title bar.

6 Let s open Interactive Sorting Details report by double clicking on it to check sorting functionality. Here report shows Order ID, Order Date, Product Class, Product Category, Product Name and Item Total. Which is already sorted on column Order ID. Now let s sort on column Product Name in ascending order. To sort column on ascending order click on a ^ button exist after Product Name. We can also sort in descending order.

7 So this is how it looks, Like this we can sort any column in ascending or descending order. Let s open Interactive Parameters Dynamic Group report by double clicking on it to check grouping functionality. Here we have a report, which shows grouping functionality on a Product Category. We can see Order Details and Product Details in this report. Here we can see different groups like Competition, Gloves, Helmet and etc. We also have a Drill Down functionality. We can Drill Down to any individual group.
