2 1(5) UTBILDNINGSPLAN International Business Development, 120 högskolepoäng International Business Development, 120 credits Programkod: JAIBD Fastställd av: VD Version: 4 Programstart: Hösten 2015 Utbildningsnivå: Avancerad nivå Examensbenämning Filosofie masterexamen med huvudområdet företagsekonomi Degree of Master of Science (120 credits) with a major in Business Administration Programbeskrivning The programme International Business Development is provided jointly by the Faculty of Economics at the Moscow State University (MSU) and Jönköping International Business School (JIBS). The language of instruction is English for courses taught at JIBS. At MSU some courses are taught in English and some in Russian. The full-time two-year programme comprises 120 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System). During the first year the students will receive instruction in Moscow from the faculty of JIBS and MSU. During the second year the students will arrive at JIBS and receive their instruction in Sweden. The programme prepares students for their future careers, working with business creation and renewal in an international context. Through their studies in both Russia and Sweden the students will be familiarized with different business contexts and acquire cross-cultural competence. Having satisfied all requirements laid down by regulation for the degree concerned, the professional degree of Master of Science (120 credits) with a major in Business Administration is awarded by JIBS; the equivalent degree will be awarded by Moscow State University. Mål General aims Second cycle education shall essentially build on the knowledge students acquire in first cycle education or corresponding knowledge. Second cycle education shall involve a deepening of knowledge, skills and abilities relative to first cycle education and, in addition to what applies to first cycle education, shall; further develop the students ability to independently integrate and use knowledge, develop the students ability to deal with complex phenomena, issues and situations, and develop the students potential for professional activities that demand considerable independence or for research and development work Listed below are learning outcomes expected for the degree associated with this programme (se Qualification Requirements section). This syllabus shall be revised in the future to indicate more precisely the programme specific goals and objectives, the latter which will closely follow the learning outcomes expected for the degree and will otherwise be influenced by the mission and/or vision statements of Jönköping International Business School. Program Specific Aims Apply concepts and theoretical perspectives related to business activities in an international context

Solve problems and exercise skills for entrepreneurial activities in an international context (entrepreneurship and internationalisation), Conduct a research project critically applying in-depth knowledge about business development in an international context (renewal and internationalisation). Knowledge and understanding demonstrate knowledge and understanding in their main field of study, including both broad knowledge in the field and substantially deeper knowledge of certain parts of the field, together with deeper insight into current research and development work; and demonstrate deeper methodological knowledge in their main field of study. Skills and abilities demonstrate an ability to critically and systematically integrate knowledge and to analyse, assess and deal with complex phenomena, issues and situations, even when limited information is available; demonstrate an ability to critically, independently and creatively identify and formulate issues and to plan and, using appropriate methods, carry out advanced tasks within specified time limits, so as to contribute to the development of knowledge and to evaluate this work; demonstrate an ability to clearly present and discuss their conclusions and the knowledge and arguments behind them, in dialogue with different groups, orally and in writing, in national and international contexts; and demonstrate the skill required to participate in research and development work or to work independently in other advanced contexts. Judgement and approach demonstrate an ability to make assessments in their main field of study, taking into account relevant scientific, social and ethical aspects, and demonstrate an awareness of ethical aspects of research and development work; demonstrate insight into the potential and limitations of science, its role in society and people s responsibility for how it is used; and demonstrate an ability to identify their need of further knowledge and to take responsibility for developing their knowledge. Independent project (degree project) have completed an independent project (degree project) worth at least 30 credits in their main field of study, within the framework of the course requirements. The independent project may comprise less than 30 credits, but not less than 15 credits, if the student has already completed an independent project at the second level worth at least 15 credits in their main field of study, or an equivalent project in a foreign educational programme. Innehåll The contents of the International Business Development programme will provide synergies of a JIBS Master programme and Master programmes given at the MSU. In this way the graduates of the programme will benefit from the academic tradition of the leading Russian university combined with the
4 International Business Development, 120 hp 3(5) entrepreneurial spirit, international environment and strong ties with the business community, all provided by JIBS. The programme offers courses covering a variety of areas in Business Administration and Economics. Special emphasis is put on entrepreneurship and international business. Company visits and encounters with practitioners will familiarize the students with the Swedish business context while they are in Jönköping. During the second year, elective courses and a master thesis offer students an opportunity to further deepen their knowledge within an area of their specialization. The programme will offer courses in agreement with education norms and regulations in Sweden and Russia, as well as enable students participation in research activities and practical company assignments. The programme finishes with a Master thesis, which is supervised jointly by the JIBS and MSU faculty and which complies with requirements of Swedish and Russian education systems. All courses are taught in English. Due to the fact that Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) has an exchange programme including a large number of partner universities, and the fact that this masters programme and a number of other master programmes at JIBS are open to students from around the world, the courses have a diverse international participation of students. The international atmosphere is reinforced with international subject matter in this programme, in particular its consideration of marketing that crosses international borders. Examination will be executed by written exam, oral exam or term papers. Different methods of examination can be used within a single course. The student will be offered at least three examination opportunities in each examine section. The university is not obligated to offer re-exams in courses a student has already passed. Mandatory workshops and assignments can figure within the frame of the course. All courses offered by JIBS will be graded according to the following six levels: A-E constitutes a pass and FX or F is equal to a fail. For most workshops and mandatory assignments, only Pass or Fail is given. Förkunskapskrav The applicant must hold the minimum of a Bachelors degree (i.e the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits at an accredited university) with at least 60 ECTS credits in either business administration, economics or engineering or equivalent knowledge. Successful candidates will pass Master Programmes entrance examinations at the EF MSU, which include written examination in economics and management; written examination in English (conducted at MSU); interview in English Villkor för fortsatta studier The following requirements need to be met for students to proceed to the second academic year within the program: Within the program the student must not fall behind more than one trimester. Examenskrav To obtain the Degree of Master of Science (120 credits) with a major in Business Administration, the student must complete the course requirements of at least 120 ECTS credits at the higher education level
6 International Business Development, 120 hp 5(5) that were not used for the bachelor degree, with at least 90 credits overall in second-cycle courses and at least 60 of those second-cycle credits in business administration, and furthermore the course Master Thesis in Business Administration (JIBS/MSU 30 credits) must be completed. The Master Thesis in Business Administration (JIBS/MSU 30 credits) will be supervised jointly, by a faculty member of JIBS and the EF MSU. The thesis will be defended in Moscow and the thesis will receive a grade for the JIBS degree, decided by JIBS examiners. Requirements to complete the programme are (1) completing the requirements for the Master of Science (120 credits) with a major in Business Administration and (2) completing all courses that are listed as mandatory courses in the Contents section, or their equivalent. After having successfully completed the programme of 120 ECTS credits, the student may be awarded the Degree of Master of Science (120 credits) with a major in Business Administration at JIBS and a Master Degree at the EF MSU. Kvalitetsutveckling Our cooperation with JSA, the student organization, is crucial. This work is conducted on two levels, programs and courses. Programme level On the program level students elect student representatives for each track of the program and each study year of the program. The student representatives and the program managers meet regularly to discuss courses and the progress of the programme. The representatives stay in contact with course coordinators to share the overall impression and student experiences from courses, in addition, the programme manager, student representatives, JSA and faculty meet annually to discuss the entire program. Course level On the course level, program developers and course responsible meet shortly after the course has started. The purpose is to ensure that the course is working well and if necessary make minor changes. After each course is finished all students perform course evaluations in PingPong, and program developers evaluate the course on the aggregate level and communicate with program manager and course responsible.
