1 Current Partnerships AH&LA: Under30Gateway The American Hotel & Lodging Association s Under 30 Gateway addresses the personal and professional needs of young hospitality professionals. Benefits and resources are inspired and implemented by peers on the AH&LA s Under 30 Council. Hyatt encourages its associates across North America to participate in Under 30 Gateway events, including mixers, training and gatherings for the hotel industry s younger generations. AH&LA: Women In Lodging The American Hotel & Lodging Association s Women In Lodging is the first industry-wide forum exclusively for female hospitality professionals, providing the opportunity to connect with top professionals nationwide and gain career momentum. The Women@Hyatt employee network group is looking to engage closely with the organization, which provides cross-company mentoring, professional gatherings and community events. Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting With chapters across the United States and in Puerto Rico, ALPFA provides career resources and scholarships to expand opportunities for Latinos in business, accounting, finance and related professions. Hyatt supports ALPFA events through cash donations and in-kind contributions. American Society of Association Executives ASAE represents association executives and industry partners who manage leading trade associations, individual membership societies and voluntary organizations across the United States and in nearly 50 countries around the world. Hyatt provided a $500,000 grant to assist with the launch of the organization s Diversity and Inclusion Initiative and directly supports ASAE s efforts to build its organizational capacity, as well as the learning and knowledge resources needed to support diversity and inclusion in associations and nonprofit organizations.
2 Current Partnerships Pg. 2 Catalyst The leading nonprofit membership organization expanding opportunities for women and business. Catalyst s work is rooted in research, studying women and men across levels, functions, and geographies to learn about women s experiences in business, barriers to their career advancement, and individual and organizational strategies leading to success. Chicago Urban League For nearly a century, the Chicago Urban League has opened the doors of opportunity for African Americans through advocacy, collaboration and innovation. The organization is a leader in building strong, sustainable African American communities and creating opportunities with the power to transform people s lives. In 2013, Hyatt began hosting CUL interns in its corporate office to expose them to D&I and the professional side of their educational focus. Historically Black Colleges and Universities-Hospitality Management Consortium Hyatt s initiatives include supporting more than 200 minority students at six member schools by awarding nearly $20,000 through a grant to attend the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality Conference. Hyatt also provides T-shirts and a photo challenge to build spirit among the universities. Hands On Education Hands On Education is a state-funded hospitality training program for adults with disabilities made possible through a unique partnership with Hyatt Hotels, State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies and local school districts. Launched at a Hyatt hotel in Tampa in 1998, the program has expanded to more than 30 Hyatt hotels in Florida, Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Texas, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Missouri, Washington and California. Human Rights Campaign With more than 750,000 members and supporters, HRC is the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization. A supporter since 2003, Hyatt participates in the HRC s national dinner held annually in Washington, D.C., and repeatedly earns a 100% score on the HRC s annual survey.
3 Current Partnerships Pg. 3 International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association Founded in 1983, the IGLTA connects lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender travelers (corporations, groups, students and individuals) with a network of 83 LGBT-friendly tourism professionals in 83 countries. Hyatt is a member of IGLTA and provides top sponsorship of IGLTA s annual trade show. LATINA Style LATINA Style broke new ground in 1994 by launching the first national magazine dedicated to the needs and concerns of the contemporary Latina professional working woman and the Latina business owner in the United States. The publication s culturally sensitive editorial environment showcases Latina achievements in all areas, including business, science, civic affairs, education, entertainment, sports, and the arts. League of United Latin American Citizens LULAC has nearly 900 councils nationwide providing youth leadership programs and more than $1 million in scholarships to Hispanic students annually. LULAC also operates 48 employment training centers. Since 1996, Hyatt s support has included sponsorship of LULAC s youth and education conference. Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance The MFHA promotes cultural diversity in the food and hospitality industry with events such as Showcase of the Stars, a yearlong hospitality career program supported by Hyatt for high school and college students and professionals. Hyatt is a founding member company and on the Board of Directors. National Association of Asian American Professionals-Chicago NAAAP-Chicago, a chapter of the pan- Asian professional organization, promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through networking, respecting Asian multiculturalism and supporting diversity and community service. Hyatt is connecting the organization with the company s multicultural employee network group to create opportunities for professional development.
4 Current Partnerships Pg. 4 National Association for the Advancement of Colored People As the country s oldest and largest civil rights organization, the NAACP fights to end race-based discrimination. Hyatt supports the Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO), a yearlong contest for high-school students, and is a co-creator of NAACP s annual culinary competition. National Hispanic Corporate Council The NHCC offers community outreach, supplier diversity, recruitment and development for a membership of Fortune 1000 and S&P 500 company representatives. A supporter since approximately 2001, Hyatt is a member of the NHCC and its Board of Directors, and participates in the council s professional leadership program. National Society of Minorities in Hospitality Founded in 1989 at Cornell University, the NSMH offers programs to unite students with industry professionals. As a supporter since 1996, Hyatt is on NSMH s Advisory Council and Board of Industry Affiliates, and has top sponsorship for events. Hyatt s college recruiting team also works with NSMH. National Urban League Since 1910, the NUL has developed programs, conducted public policy research and advocated for a better standard of living. Hyatt s relationship with the NUL, dating back to 1996, includes support of its youth/leadership program and sponsorship of the annual youth conference and summit. Out & Equal Workplace Advocates Out & Equal is committed to ending employment discrimination for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees with the belief that people should be judged by the work they do, not by their sexual orientation or gender identity. Hyatt works with the organization on its annual summit, and the organization serves as a resource to the HyPRIDE employee network group through a broad ENG registry and workplace tools such as town hall calls and training.
5 Current Partnerships Pg. 5 Professional Diversity Network The Professional Diversity Network operates separate professional networking sites for different affinities. Hyatt s partnership with the organization is aimed at broadening the pool of job candidates at the corporate office. United States Hispanic Leadership Institute The USHLI has developed into one of the most powerful, nationally and internationally recognized Latino organizations in the country by organizing and conducting nonpartisan voter registration and leadership development programs in 40 states. The organization has been able to maintain a stable presence in hundreds of communities over the years by promoting empowerment and civic responsibility. Women s Forum for the Economy & Society The first forum of its kind on both a European and international level, and since its formation in 2005 already has developed a legacy as a place for meetings and interactions for women from all countries and backgrounds.
