3 3. Assessment Timeline Assessment Procedures and Timeline: The UG Intensive Business Program will assess at least one program-level learning outcome annually, using at least one required or elective course as the venue for that assessment. The primary responsibility for choosing and designing the assessment instruments will be the instructor of the class, in collaboration with and approval of the director and the Assessment Coordinator for their school/division. The Department will hold a meeting in either January or May (depending on the semester) for the purpose of assessing student progress on that specific learning outcome. All full-time faculty members will be expected to participate, with part-time faculty invited to participate. A report (see #4 below) will then be submitted by the instructor to the department chair/program director, who will then forward it to the appropriate Assessment Coordinator (see #4 below). The table following indicates the learning outcome to be assessed, the identified course, and the year that the assessment will occur. 4 4 Intro: PLO s in Intensive Business have been primarily measured both for the NDNU Assessment and that required by the ACBSP through three methods used in the capstone course: ETS testing which is benchmarked nationally, a graduate survey of student assessment of program learning outcomes, and an assessment of their final case analysis and presentation. The program director is currently piloting a career portfolio process with the Spring 2014 capstone class, which may or may not become part of the assessment project. We have also created individual course maps for the major core courses in order to better align course outcomes with PLO s. Further a concentration outcome description has been incorporated in this report to highlight how concentration courses relate to program outcomes. Following is an outline of PLOAssessments tentatively planned for the next 2 years of the 5 year assessment cycle.
