1 RDP ACTIVITY REPORT 2012 SHORT SUMMARY The association for the Transition of Professional Dancers (RDP) was founded in 1993 following the input of M. Philippe Braunschweig. It is a nonprofit organization that informs and guides professional dancers of Frenchspeaking Switzerland during their performance career as well as at the moment of their professional transition. The goal of the association is to support dancers in their career transition, to make them aware of how their sector of activity works and to provide them with tools to manage their career. In parallel, the association works to promote Swiss and international cooperation in order to make the transition of professional dancers easier. The RDP works towards improving social recognition and acknowledgment by the authorities of the dancer s profession and of its specificities. In association with public authorities, the professional community, patrons and sponsors, the association looks for the necessary funding for the transition of professional dancers.
