The prospect knows you can probably give them the general cost over the phone but you will want to meet to make sure you recommend the right type of policy. 3 The lead will contain an "additional comments" section. The telephone reps will note any additional comments that are made by the prospect so you will be prepared before you call the prospect. We only rebuttal a prospect ONE time. We do NOT "bend anyone's arm" to produce a lead. We know that if a prospect feels they are aggressively pushed into something, then they will only change their mind later when you call back. Therefore, our policy is to only use ONE rebuttal and if a new prospect is not interested after one rebuttal, then we do NOT produce the lead. The telephone reps are trained to record the prospect's comments exactly how they are stated. This gives the agent some insight into what the prospect knows about their current coverage. Many times a new prospect will say they have a whole life policy when actually it is a term policy. This indicates the prospect doesn't really understand what they purchased. You will find that most business owners do NOT know what they currently own. Most business owners do not understand life insurance and have not reviewed their current policy since it was issued. This fact opens the door of opportunity for you. The prospect was willing to take a few minutes out of their busy day to talk to a telephone rep about their life insurance because they have doubts in their own mind that they do not have the best policy or the best price. The business owner may have responded to our call for a variety of reasons. Maybe they purchased more property and acquired more debt, or maybe their business or family has grown.
