2 ~ Page 2 ~ From July 22 thru the 37th, Professor Barry Glover attended the FBINAA Annual Conference in Boston. A table was set up as an Academic Partner. There were over 2,300 graduates in attendance. ~ A special thanks to Mr. Jared Welling, the Director of Graduate Admissions for funding our participation in these events.~ ~ SAINT LEO UNIVERSITY - OUT IN THE COMMUNITY ~ Professor Peter Wubbenhorst attended a Partner Reception in Quantico on Aug 18, again, having the opportunity to speak about all of our programs to graduates of the FBI National Academy. Professor Barry Glover s Senior Seminar, Cold Murder Case class has taken on two new cases for this semester, one from Pasco County and one from Hernando County. 25 students and two team leaders are working to help solve these cases. Students working on cold cases from Hernando County and Pasco County, led by police captains.

SAINT LEO UNIVERSITY COMMAND OFFICER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM Saint Leo University offers a Command Officer Management Program and with this an ability to provide on-site courses at a Law Enforcement facility. As of this date, we have graduated ten Command Schools with over 190 graduates. Our 11th. Command School offering in association with the Sumter County Sheriff s Office and Sheriff Bill Farmer is scheduled to begin in September of 2010 and will graduate in April of We are pleased to announce that our Command Program is listed in the Manatee County Sheriff s Office policy on Professional Development as a focus on the transition from Lieutenant to Command Staff. We are also proud of the fact that Sheriff Ed Dean of Marion County was instrumental in the development of this program and has sent all of his supervisors to our Command School. Please note: In order to attend, students must be sponsored by their respective Criminal Justice Departments. Saint Leo University has been offering degrees in Criminal Justice for over 30 years and is recognized as a leader in the field. The University is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of College and Schools, (SACS). Our Command Officer Management Program is supported by several Florida Sheriffs who have sent numerous personnel to previous schools. 4 ~ In Memory ~ ~ Page 4 ~ Pooler Police Chief Chan dies Sunday, August 29, 2010 Pooler Police Chief C.E. "Butch" Chan Pooler Police Chief C.E. Butch Chan died Sunday, August 29, while on a cruise with his wife Laura, in the Mediterranean. Chan, who had been Pooler chief for more than 24 years, was on a two-week cruise with his wife and members of her family. They were headed to Venice. Chan was only 65-years -old. Chan began his law enforcement career 40 years ago working at the Chatham County Police Department under now Sheriff Al St. Lawrence. Chan was a member of the department's motorcycle squad. Chan leaves behind his wife Laura, two sons and several grandchildren.

Here is the link: First, choose your citation style from the upper left hand menu, then choose the type of resource you are trying to document from the list on the left hand side of the next screen. Supply the raw citation data in the boxes provided on the following screen and Citation Machine will convert that raw data into a citation in the style you first selected. You will also find Citation Machine linked on the library's Research and Writing Help Page under Grammar and Writing Help link: Academics/Library/Research-Writing- Help. While on this latter page, you might take a look at Easy Bib to see if it will better serve your purposes. It requires one to register but is free as the University has established an account. 6 ~ Page 6 ~ SLU Professor Co-author s book, Ivory Tower Cop Leonard Territo, Ed.D. Dr. Territo has written ten textbooks on criminal justice. Considered an expert in the field, Territo has been working as a police officer and criminologist for over 30 years. Territo and his co-author George Kirkham, wrote Ivory Tower Cop after being inspired by a series of vicious rapes occurring in a major metropolitan city. Territo comments, The thing that caught my attention was the unusual modus operandi of the rapist who only targeted professional women. Territo, a New York, N.Y. native, served in the U.S. Navy and then joined the Tampa Police Dept. He was a patrol and motorcycle officer and also a homicide and rape detective. Territo was a key homicide investigative advisor on the Chi Omega murders of serial killer Ted Bundy! Territo currently resides in Tampa, Fla., and is a distinguished visiting professor in the Dept. of Criminal Justice at SLU. For more information on his book, please visit ww.ivorytowercop.com.
