2 CANOPYv100 Portfolio, Program and Project Management Suite NewSolve has been deeply involved in the Program Management area and has spent considerable time refining its products to provide up-to-date solutions for today s Portfolio and Program Management needs. CANOPYv100 Portfolio Administrator, Program Coordinator and Project Assistant are tailored to meet the Portfolio, Program, and Project Management needs of any sized organization. The CANOPYv100 Portfolio, Program and Project Management Suite (PPPMS) includes several key tools for effective project/program/portfolio management and governance. These tools do not replace the functions of project managers nor the need to communicate, but they enable and empower project managers and their team members to become highly effective communicators and collaborators. These tools also increase the visibility of key areas to upper management, enabling problem areas to be quickly identified and appropriately adjusted. By helping provide the right level of feedback, the process contributes significantly to reducing risk and improving overall program clarity. Portfolio, Program and Project Management Suite includes tools which allow larger organizations to capture, log, track and report on enterprise wide issues, risks, decisions, change request and action items. It also includes a powerful status reporting application for streamlining and capturing all of the enterprise projects status reports on a set periodic basis. Management dashboards can be created to provide real-time updates (headlights) into overall portfolio and program health. our framework... NewSolve s Application framework, CANOPYv100, enables its RADDD (Rapid Application Design, Development and Deployment) strategy for implementation of IT solutions. Functionality can be developed using isolated modules as building blocks for entire web applications. The Status Reporting module allows all project managers to submit a consistently structured status report periodically (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) providing updates to milestones; assessments of KPIs (both at a project and/or sub-project/work-stream level); highlighting key issues, risks, decisions or change requests; identifying activities planned and achieved, planned but not achieved, and not planned and achieved. As well, all status reports for a period can be simply consolidated to create a program/portfolio view. There are several logs with can be used to track and govern program/project activity. The Issues Log facilitates tracking, reporting and escalation of issues at all levels. The Action Items Log allow project resources to document and track the progress of action items, creating a mechanism for ownership and accountability. The Risks Log facilitates documentation, tracking, reporting and management of risks which may have an impact on the success of the project. The Decisions Log enables the recording and documentation of non-trivial decisions, creating a knowledge base of historical records and source of information. The Change Requests Log facilitates the compilation and subsequent submission of a requested change by a project manager to the Project Management Office/Change Control Board. The due diligence section allows individual approval and reviewer groups to document their approval of the change. The Resource Management module provides a centralized location for the maintenance of all resource related data and security configuration. Information captured includes general contact information; emergency contact information; resource costs information including contracts and rates; asset assignments and software licenses; assigned projects, teams and groups. The Artifact Management module introduces a new way of storing and retrieving project artifacts. It also allows the user to categorize them, set the current phase, and link them to related projects. Accessing all the charters across a Portfolio or Program is a simple as selecting charters. Similarly, accessing all the documents under change control for a single project is as simple as selecting the project. The role based nature of CANOPYv100 allows for the development of user centric modules which gives users a view of information that is specific to them. For example, the My Issues module will list only those issues that are relevant and pertinent to that resource they may be one of the creator, owner, executive owner, or even the resource raising the issue. Modules include My Risks, My Decisions, My Action Items, My Change Requests and My Decisions. The notification module can be enabled to send a single per day (so as not to overwhelm users inbox) containing a summary or all issues, risks, etc. pertaining to that user. The , for example, may contain issues which are coming due, or has become overdue, or has been updated by another user. Each of these summary items are clickable, which takes the user back to the detailed item log in the portal allowing easy access to review or update. 24x7 support is provided as part of the Enhanced Support package. The Basic Support package includes support Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm EST.

With CANOPYv100 Portfolio Administrator, you can create customized portfolio and program dashboards which report on the health on the overall portfolio and individual programs in real-time, based on the information currently available within the system. These dashboards provide the headlights to give portfolio managers, program managers, executives and other stakeholders visibility into the programs near future and allows them to maintain careful watch of higher risk areas, as well as, to identify other potential and emerging risks as early as possible. The preferred strategy is to identify these risks in the earliest possible stage and to mitigate them using the best available approaches and in so doing, help increase the possibility of overall program success. Dashboards can be configured to show snapshots of Issues, Risks, Action Items, Decisions, Change Requests, etc. Similar to all other modules in CANOPYv100, the dashboard modules are based on users and roles. As well as having the option for all dashboard users to view the same or similar information, the modules can also be configured so that each user can view only the information that is relevant to them, and covers their sphere of influence, i.e. the specific area(s) for which they have responsibility. These logs, together with the full suite of standard modules, can be configured to create the ultimate project communication and collaboration tool. When assembled correctly, utilizing best practices and key learnings from previous implementations, CANOPYv100 can provide visibility into items requiring management attention. CANOPYv100 Program Coordinator CANOPYv100 Program Coordinator extends the functionality offered by Project Assistant to include Status Reporting. Project Managers are able to submit periodic (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, etc.) status reports using a consistent web-based application. This allows the Program Management Office to generate various consolidated reports giving key insights into the different aspects of the overall program and individual projects. Benchmarks on progress can be illustrated using KPIs (with simple to understand green-yellow-red indicators) and measurements against baseline milestones.
