1 VIRTUAL UNIVERSITY OF PAKISTAN FORMAT OF THE INTERNSHIP REPORT FOR MBA (MIS) Prefatory Parts 1. Title page The title page of the report will include: a. The name of the organization b. The name of the internee, Student ID and session c. The date of the final report d. Name of the university e. VU logo 2. Letter of Undertaking You are required to fill in the Letter of Undertaking provided in the Download section of the course VULMS and attach here the scanned copy after signing it. 3. Scanned copy of the internship certificate Attach the scanned copy of the original internship completion certificate provided by the organization. 4. Dedication (Optional) If you want to dedicate your work to someone you may write the dedication note under this section of internship report. 5. Acknowledgement In this section you acknowledge the help and support of all the people who helped you in the completion of internship and internship report e.g. library staff, course instructor, family & friends or any other person.

2 6. Executive summary Executive summary is written for executives who have not enough time to review the complete report. It should provide the concise and comprehensive view of the report. Executive summary should not be more than one page. 7. Table of contents List the important headings and sub headings in the report with page numbers. Also make a separate list of tables and figures in the table of contents if you have used any.

5 PART THREE 1. Critical analysis (Word Limit:700) a. Compare and evaluate the organization s current strategies with the organization vision and mission statement b. Compare your theoretical concepts with the current practices being carried out by the organization in its various departments to perform various functions 2. SWOT analysis (Word Limit:300) Clearly describe all the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Remember that strengths and weaknesses are internal to the organization and represent its culture while opportunities and threats correspond to the environment outside the organization. 3. Internal factor evaluation matrix (Word Limit:200) 4. External factor evaluation matrix (Word Limit:200) 5. Threats opportunities weaknesses Strengths matrix (TOWS) (Word Limit:300) 6. 6 PART FOUR 1. Conclusion (Word Limit:400) In this section you are required to describe the organization according to your evaluation/assessment in the light of organizational analyses. 2. Recommendations (Word Limit:400) In this section, you are required to suggest solutions for all those problems or discrepancies (what you have identified in critical and SWOT analyses) found in the organization.

7 Supplementary Part 1. Reference & Sources used a. In this section, provide all the references and sources in APA format that you have used for data collection in your internship Report. 2. Annexes a. At the end of your report, attach all of the supporting material you have used for the preparation of your report, like brochures, forms, newsletters, interviews, questionnaires etc. Important Notes: I. You are required to follow the word limit provided in each part of the internship report format. You can deviate +10% from the word limit defined in each item. Minimum words requirement for internship report is 8,000. The word limit should be excluding tables, graphs, references and annexure. II. Complete all the required parts as mentioned in the format of your internship report. Remember, each part has been allocated certain weightage and importance. III. You should prepare the internship report according to their specialization under MBA program i.e Management Information System. IV. Internship report should be submitted within the due date as mentioned in the semester calendar. The due dates will not be extended in any case. V. You are required to upload their internship reports on VULMS of the course against the relevant assignment link. Internship reports submitted through e- mail will not be accepted. Students can upload their internship reports only once that will be considered as their final submission and may not be replaced.
