3 INTRODUCTION Sale documents online poses a risk for intellectual Property. Risk of seeing your documents shared for free on many platforms, without possibility to stop it. That s why Secured PDF Downloadable Products extension is here. Add different kind of protection on PDF files bought by your customers to discourage them to share the files. The running is very simple: 1) Your customer buy a downloadable PDF file 2) In his account he goes to My Downloadable Products section 3) When he clicks to download the PDF, Secured PDF Downloadable Products get the PDF, add protections and send it to your customer. 4 SETUP 1) DISABLE COMPILATION If compilation is enabled, please disable it in System Tools Compilation 2) COPY AND PASTE FILES Copy files from the zip to your Magento in accordance with Magento folder tree. 3) REFRESH THE CACHE Refresh the cache, even if disabled, in System Cache Management 4) DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT TO ADMINISTRATION PANEL To access to the Secured PDF Downloadable Products extension configuration interface you need to disconnect and connect again to the administration panel. 5) CONFIGURE THE EXTENSION Secured PDF Downloadable Products configuration is available in System Configuration Secured PDF Downloadable Products (Catalog). 5 HOW TO USE EXTENSION CONFIGURATION 1) Go to : System Configuration Secured PDF Downloadable Products (Catalog) 2) Choose protections options Choose allowed function (default: none): Select one or many options to allow it. In this screenshot print and modify are selected, that means PDF files could be printed and modified but the text can t be copied/pasted and annotations are disabled. Password protection (default: no): Select Yes if you want the PDF files to have a password to open. 5/11 5/11

6 Choose the password type: Choose a kind of password on PDF files related to your customers information. You have the choice between four combinations: Customer , Customer firstname, Customer lastname, Customer firstname + lastname (attached). For example if you choose Customer firstname as password, all PDF files downloaded by the customer will be protected with a password, his firstname. /!\ Works only if password protection is set to Yes. /!\ The password is always set in lowercase! 7 3) Choose footer print options Enable Footer Print: choose if you want to enable or not the footer printing option Custom text: you can add a custom text in the footer of all PDF pages Customer information to display: choose what kind of customer information you want to add on the footer 7/11 7/11

11 FAQ WHICH MAGENTO VERSION IS SUPPORTED? Almost all of them: 1.3+ for Community Edition and for Enterprise Edition HOW TO REMOVE SECURED PDF DOWNLOADABLE PRODUCTS? To remove Secured PDF downloadable products you have to delete these files from your website: - app code community Tangkoko SecuredPDF - app etc modules Tangkoko_SecuredPdf.xml - lib FPDI I CAN T OPEN MY PDF WITH MY PASSWORD Remember that the password is set in lowercase.
