4 LAE Region III 2014 Firearms Competition: The shooting portion of the LAE Region III 2014 Regional Competition will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at: Crossfire Recreational Center, LLC E. Truman Road Independence, MO This is an indoor range. Eye protection and hearing protection are required. (If shooters do not have these items, they may be rented at the range) Shooters must have a weapon that meets the standards of the LAE shooting competition listed on the National LAE website. Weapons will be safety checked on site prior to the competitor shooting (The range has a few weapons to rent if the competitor has that need). Shooters must provide 48 rounds of acceptable ammunition for their weapon. NO STEEL CASED AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED ON THIS RANGE. Shooters may bring their own ammunition or ammunition will be available for sale at the range. Shooters must attend the LAE shooter safety briefing on Friday, October 10, 2014 and sign the liability release in order to participate in this event.
5 LAE Region III 2014 Poster Competition This competition is new this year and is open to all students (undergraduate & graduate) Levels of Competition: Lower Division (70 semester hours or less) Upper Division (71 semester hours or more) Graduate Division (those working on a graduate degree) Posters may be submitted in either traditional paper format or in electronic format. Traditional Paper Poster Format: Those students choosing this format should submit an abstract (100 words or less) to Dr. Lynn Urban by September 25, Students will bring their posters to the competition and they will be displayed during that portion of the competition. Students are allowed to stand by their posters and answer any questions that might be presented by the judges. Electronic Poster Format: For those students that cannot attend or would prefer, there is an electronic format. Posters using the electronic format may be submitted to Dr. Lynn Urban by September 25, Posters using the electronic format will be displayed during the poster competition using a computer program developed by Dr. Bonham, Ph.D. Sample posters with plug and play poster formats are included in the advisor packets sent to each chapter.
