1 SECTION OPTICAL FIBER CABLES AND ACCESSORIES PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE A. Interior Raceways, Fittings, and Accessories: Section B. Wiring, General Volts And Under: Section REFERENCES A. EIA/TIA 568B. B. EIA/TIA SYSTEM DESCRIPTION A. For elevators as shown on the drawings, provide bi-directional contactor closure transceivers, with associated wiring, termination points to achieve two (2) separate signals for the elevator controllers: 1. "20 Second Pre Transfer Notification prior to Retransfer to Utility Power". 2. "Bus powered from Generators". B. The 20 Second Pre Transfer Notification signal will allow the elevators to stop at the primary floor prior to retransfer and resume normal operation once re-transfer is made via contactors (open/close). 1. Pre-transfer notification signal: a. Contacts will close 20 seconds prior to return to utility from generator power. b. Contacts will open when transfer has been made back to utility. C. When the Bus receives power from the Generators and the main generator breaker closes and a signal will be sent to control a lobby emergency light via contactors (open/close). 1. Bus powered from Generators signal: a. Contacts will close when Generator power is supplied. b. Contacts will open when Normal power is restored. D. The signals will originate from the generator main transfer switch located in the Power House via existing dry contacts on generator circuit breaker and existing 20 second time delay relay UELEV. Relay UELEV is coordinated with existing relay UNR which has an existing time delay of 8 minutes and 32 sec prior to retransfer back to utility. The time delay relay for re-transfer back to normal power shall be coordinated to allow for proper communication period across the Willard network Project No E
2 E. The state of the contacts and relays will be monitored and transmitted by a bi-directional contact closure from the Seneca Home building to the various elevator locations utilizing the existing fiber network. The bi-directional contact closures will be located in each buildings data closet and the Seneca Home main data room. F. Provide two (2) sets of dry contacts for the Elevator Contractor to receive notice of: 1. Emergency generator power is supplied. 2. Re-transfer notification. G. Provide two (2) #16 AWG wire and conduit from the data closet to the elevator machine room located within the required buildings and connected to a bi-directional contact closure transceiver for the emergency generator signals. H. Elevator Contractor will provide: 1. Final connections to elevator equipment for pre-notification signal and emergency light. 2. Emergency lights and associated elevator control programming. I. Provide two (2) GXT-700RT UPS's and rack mounted plug strips for bi-directional contact closure transceivers in Seneca Home main data room. Locate in existing main fiber termination rack SUBMITTALS A. Waiver of Submittals: The "Waiver of Certain Submittal Requirements" in Section does not apply to this Section. B.
