The calculation of indicator has a long history and has been maintained since 1960s. It has been regularly improved throughout the years to ensure the comparability with international classifications, composition of indicators and other standards. 0.5 Users and Application The main users of statistical information are the state government and local self-government bodies, public, scientific-educational, financial organizations, business society, mass media, international organizations, etc. Information on activities of higher professional educational institutions is applied in the field of education for the purposes of strategy development, solutions of strategic tasks, revealing social development trends and other purposes. 0.6 Information Sources The main source of indicator compilation is data collected from educational intitutions providing high professional educational programs through state statistical reports on annual basis. 0.7 Legal Authority to Collect Data Data is collected based on the RA Laws On State Statistics and Three-Year State Statistical Work Program, as well as the Resolution No. 11-N of RA

The response burden is not measured. 1.1 Description of Contents The activity of higher professional education program Statistical Concepts institutionsis as follows: a)number of higher professional education institutions, b)number of admitted students according to specializations, gender, educational systems with or without tuition fee, full time tuition and correspondence learning forms. c) number of students according to specializations, gender, age, education systems with and without tuitions fees, full time tuition and correspondence learning forms, courses, amount of scholarship and tuition fees, d) number of graduated students according to specializations, gender, age, education systems with and without tuition fee, full time tuition and correspondence learning forms, e) number of reinstated and dismissed students according to reasons and courses, f)number of students from CIS and other countires, who have been admitted, studied and graduated according to gender and countries, g)number of staff according to gender,academic degree and status, h) full-time teaching staff according to gender, rates, sphere of science, i) number of scientific pedagogical and scientific staff according to academic degree and status, j) total area of buildings according to types and designation, k) number of students living inhostels and in need of hostels, l)receiving and use of financial means, Main concepts Higher professional education professional education implemented at least on the basis of secondary education with 2

Geographical coverage Covers all the Marzes of the Republic of Armenia and Yerevan city. Publication groupings Information on higher professional education is publishedaccording to RA marzes and Yerevan city, state and private educational institutions, gender and age of students, ammounts of scholarships, tuition fees, courses, number of staff, academic degree and status. 2 Time 2.1 Reference period Annual 3

4 2.2 Date of publication Annual indicators are published in the 3rd quarter of the year following the reference period. 2.3 Punctuality Data are published according to schedule of annual programs publication and no delays from defined deadlines have been reported. 2.4 Frequency Annual 3 Accuracy 3.1 Overall accuracy There are no specific quantitative evaluations related to the overall accuracy. Data is exhaustively collected. Mandatory provision of state statistical information is prescribed by the legal acts regulating the field of statistics. 3.2 Sources of inaccuracy There is no source of inaccuracy. 3.3 Measures on accuracy/ Measurability 4 Comparability The data of measures on accuracy submitted by organizations within the reference period of the current year is carried out by comparing them with the relevant data for the same period of the previous year. 4.1 Comparability over Time Before 1998, the indicator has been represented in accordance 4.2 Comparability with Other Statistics 4.3 Coherence between Provisional and Final Statistics 5 Accessibility with the structure of All Union Classification of Branches of National Economy (AUCOBONE).
