2 Original Sheet 2 A. AUTOMATIC ANSWERING AND RECORDING SERVICE 1. GENERAL a. The Company will furnish automatic answering and recording service which provides for the unattended automatic answering of telephones, reproduced from a recording and the automatic recording of such message as is given by the calling party. The Company will also furnish answering service which provides for the automatic answering of telephones and the transmission of a prepared message to the calling party. b. The Company will furnish all equipment required for such automatic answering and recording services. The automatic answering and recording equipment contains a mechanism designed to automatically disconnect the associated telephone after the completion of the time interval provided by the equipment for recording incoming messages. The automatic answering equipment automatically disconnects the called telephone after the completing of the transmission of the message. c. Automatic answering and recording service is available for use with all exchange and PBX stations where full selective ringing is employed. The service is not available at telephones where semi-selective or non-selective ringing is used. d. The automatic answering and recording service is not to be used for time-ofday, weather reports and other similar services which induces a large volume of telephone calls to be directed to the customer at or about the same time resulting in, preventing, obstructing or delaying the telephone service of others. 2. RATES AND CHARGES The following charges apply to the automatic answering and recording service and are in addition to the other rates and charges applicable to the associated telephone facilities and service:

Extension stations will be provided in connection with all classes of main station service, excluding public telephone service. b. Extension stations must be located on the same premises of the subscriber on which the main station is located and are restricted to the use of the subscriber, his representatives and associates or to members of the subscriber s immediate family or domestic establishment. c. The number of extension stations which may be permitted with any main station is limited to such numbers as, in the judgment of the Company, will not interfere with efficient operation of the service.

5 Original Sheet 5 D. REMOTE CALL FORWARDING GENERAL A. Remote Call Forwarding (RCF) is a telecommunications network service that utilizes a telephone number and electronic central office facilities to forward automatically all calls dialed to the RCF telephone number to the customer s telephone number in another exchange (Terminating Telephone Number). This offering is equivalent to automated Enterprise Service. B. Remote Call Forwarding is offered subject to the availability of suitable facilities and in the exchanges where it is available. C. A Remote Call Forwarding arrangement includes the equipment necessary to forward one telephone call to a terminating telephone number. D. Remote Call Forwarding is provided on condition that the customer subscriber to sufficient Remote Call Forwarding arrangements and terminating telephone numbers to handle calls adequately to the Remote Call Forwarding customer without interfering with or impairing any services offered by the Telephone Company. If, in the opinion of the Telephone Company, additional Remote Call Forwarding arrangements or terminating telephone numbers are required, the customer will be responsible for subscribing to such additional Remote Call Forwarding arrangements or terminating telephone numbers. In the event the customer refuses to subscriber to such additional Remote Call Forwarding arrangements or terminating telephone numbers, such customer s Remote Call Forwarding service shall be subject to termination. E. Where additional terminating telephone numbers are requested by the customer or required by the Telephone Company for association with the same RCF number, such additional terminating telephone numbers must be of the same class and grade of service and on the same premises as the first terminating telephone number. F. Remote Call Forwarding is not represented as satisfactory for transmission of data. G. The Customer Calling Service call forwarding feature is not offered for use with a Remote Call Forwarding terminating station.

The Telephone Company will not provide identification of the originating telephone number to the Remote Call Forwarding customers. I. Charges for calls from originating stations to an RCF telephone number are the responsibility of the originating station, unless such calls are accepted as collect at the terminating telephone number. Charges for the forwarding of calls from the RCF number to the terminating telephone number are the responsibility of the Remote Call Forwarding customer. J. For any collect calls placed to the RCF number, charges for calls forwarded to the terminating telephone number apply regardless of whether or not such calls are accepted as collect at the terminating telephone number. 2. First each arrangement associated with a Remote Call Forwarding Number See Tariff 1A3 * Section 1. *The basic monthly rate will be the existing tariffed rates for 1FB rate for that exchange, plus the tariffed rates for call forwarding. For each call forwarded to a local telephone number, there will be a charge of $.10 per call. For each call forwarded to a terminating telephone outside of the local calling area will be assessed the charges that are specified in this Company s Long Distance Services Tariff, Section 2.

7 Original Sheet 7 E. CALL REFERRAL SERVICE I. GENERAL A. Call Referral Service is an offering that allows an access line customer to have calls referred to another access line number, local or long distance, by means of a recorded message. B. The caller is advised by a recorded message of the condition of the access line as follows: The number you have dialed xxx-xxxx has been changed; the new number is area code xxx-xxx-xxxx; this is a recording. Thank you! C. Call Referral Service is offered subject to the availability of suitable facilities and in the exchanges where it is available. D. Telephone users calling the announcement number may be automatically disconnected after elapse of time for one full announcement. E. The liability of the Telephone Company for damages arising out of mistakes, omissions, interruptions, delays or errors or defects in transmission occurring in the course of furnishing service or other facilities and not caused by the negligence of the customer, or the Telephone Company in failing to maintain proper standards of maintenance and operations and to exercise reasonable supervision, shall in no event exceed an amount equivalent to the proportionate charge to the customer for the period of service during which such mistake, omission, interruption, delay or error or defect in transmission occurs.
