1 Our Core Team Beenamma Benny RN, MSN, CPN Clinical Faculty Beena has worked as RN in India, Saudi Arabia, and in the PICU at CHAM. She has served as an Associate Professor and Clinical Instructor of Pediatric Nursing at Jamia Hamdard University in India and is certified in Pediatric Nursing. In her current role Beena serves as Clinical faculty for CHAM since May 2010 and is responsible for orientation, mentoring, and continuing education of pediatric nurses; resource person for nurses and nursing leadership in CHAM. In 2005 she joined the education and organization development division helping lead the Montefiore Excellence Initiative and other training initiatives. Currently, Manuela leads student affiliations, serves as faculty for Press Ganey Training and coordinates learning network projects. Anne also serves as adjunct faculty for Clinical Information System, Nursing Attendant Orientation and Unit Secretary and Business Associate Orientation. She has twenty-nine years RN experience, twenty-four in critical care, twenty-one in the role of Patient Care Coordinator. In addition, Anne has three years experience as a Clinical Adjunct Faculty member in the BSN program at the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Anne holds a Post-Masters Nurse Educator Certificate. 2 Alex Bux RN, EdD, ANP-BC, CCRN Clinical Faculty Alex conducts unit based nursing education and training for critical care nurses at the Moses and Weiler campuses and participates in the development, initiation, implementation, and evaluation of nursing programs at Montefiore. Builds curricular that incorporate innovative strategies and evidence-based research to improve the learning experiences for nurses at Montefiore. A nurse since 1983, Alex received a B.A. in psychology from St. John s University, an A.A.S. in nursing, from Westchester Community College, a B.S. in nursing from Mercy College, an M.S. in nursing from Lehman College and a Post-Masters Certificate as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Mt. St. Vincent. In 2009, Alex received a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Phoenix and has national certifications as a critical care nurse and an adult nurse practitioner. In addition, Alex currently serves as adjunct assistant professor of nursing at Lehman College. In addition she serves as Regional Faculty for the American Heart Association. In addition, Chris is a skilled leadership coach. With a B.S. in business from Salve Regina University, Chris is a member of ASTD and SHRM, Myers-Briggs qualified, and certified in training programs from Linkage, Franklin Covey, VitalSmarts, and Ken Blanchard. 3 Thelma James, RN, MSN Clinical Faculty In addition to leading Clinical Core and RN/LPN orientations, Thelma is responsible for coordinating and providing regular in-services and education to the nursing staff in the transplant unit. Thelma has more than fifteen (15) years of experience as an educator with the last four (4) years as the educator in the Organ Transplant Department. She holds a masters degree in nursing with a minor in education and has taught in traditional classroom settings, and in clinical and patient care settings. She is responsible for leading clinical learning enterprise wide. Lisa has 31 years of nursing experience, including 25 years in emergency nursing as a staff nurse, nurse manager and clinical faculty. She has 15 years experience as Adjunct Faculty at Bronx Community College and Pace University. In addition, Lisa serves as a Trauma Instructor for the Emergency Nurses Association, Pediatric Emergency Nursing Instructor for the Emergency Nurses Association and Clinical Faculty in DEOD. Lewis Senior Secretary Denise provides administrative support for all American Heart Association Courses including ACLS, PALS and BLS. 4 Mary McLoughlin, RN-BC, MSN, CEN Clinical Faculty Mary serves as clinical faculty for the Weiler Emergency Department, and is chair of the Continuing Education Committee. She 30 Years RN experience in critical care and emergency nursing at various NY health care organizations, with more than 20 years in education; faculty and guest lecturer in several area colleges in the area and been an expert witness for medical malpractice firms. In addition, Mary is board certified in Medical - Surgical, Emergency and Trauma Nursing. 5 Catherine O Brien, MS, RN-BC Clinical Faculty Cathy joined the Montefiore Learning Network in Her responsibilities include Clinical Information System instructor, Nursing Attendant Orientation coordinator and instructor, Continuing Education Committee member, Charge Nurse and Preceptor Workshops Coordinator. In addition, she provides clinical, leadership and educational support for medicine and surgery units at the Moses and Weiler campuses. A registered nurse with more than thirty years experience in acute care, Cathy has held both clinical and leadership positions including medical-surgical nurse, clinical nurse specialist, nurse manager, assistant director of nursing quality and assistant director of nursing-house supervision. Cathy received a Master of Science degree in Adult Clinical Nursing with a specialization in education from Pace University and is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Nursing Professional Development. She currently serves as adjunct faculty with the City University of New York, Bronx Community College. In 2010 Susan was promoted to Senior Director of Organization Development and is responsible for OD services in support of the mission, vision and values of Montefiore. Prior to joining Montefiore, Susan held senior level human resources positions within the healthcare and IT industries at Saint Vincent s Medical Center in Manhattan, Bayonne Medical Center in New Jersey, Andersen Consulting, Avesta Technologies and Visual Networks. Leading organization change and learning efforts were a theme across her 30 years of experience. Susan is Myers-Brigg s qualified and is certified in administering the Mayer-Salovey- Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test, Change Works Change Grid and has a certification in Labor Relations from Cornell s School of Industrial & Labor Relations. In addition, she is a certified Trainer for Developmental Dimensions International and Vital Smarts for Crucial Conversations. Susan participated in Fielding s Evidence Based Coaching Program and earned an MBA in Management from Seton Hall University. 6 Rose-Lily Santiago- Ballucanag, BSN, RN, MSN, RNC-OB, RN-BC, CLC Clinical Faculty Rose is responsible at the North Division for unit-based orientation, in-services, and competencies of L&D, Postpartum, Nursery, NICU, and Pediatric Nursing. In addition, she serves as an NRP Regional Trainer, BCLS & ACLS Instructor. Rose coordinates the nursing schools clinical placements at the North division. She is certified in in-patient OB, Nursing Professional Development, Fetal Monitoring, and Lactation Counseling. Rose has 31 years of experience as an RN in acute care settings, home care, clinical instruction in nursing schools, and staff development. In that role she is responsible for creating learning initiatives, programs and services in support of Montefiore s mission, vision and values. In 2011, Montefiore launched the Montefiore Learning Network, a collaborative effort across Montefiore and beyond to provide learning programs and resources to support Montefiore and its associates. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, has 15+years of experience helping healthcare organizations learn. Helen has a PhD in Adult Leadership and MS in Human Resource Development from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL and a BS in education from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI. 7 Theresa C. Terilli, RNC, MS Clinical Faculty Terrie currently teaches documentation, CIS, IV insertion and serves as HealthStream Administrator and instructional designer. In addition, she provides clinical learning support to Moses and Weiler Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and the Medical Intervention Unit. Terrie has thirty-four (34) years experience as an RN in neurology, utilization, quality assurance/improvement, dialysis, psychiatry and case management, 11 years in education. She holds an AAS Nursing; BA Humanities; MS Health Service Management and Policy is Certified in Quality Assurance and Utilization Review, Case Management, PRi and Screener, and elearning. Terrie serves as a member of the Patient Education Committee, Joint Commission Provision of Care chapter, and the Information Management Committee. Thompson, RNBC, MS, FNPBC CF Clinical Faculty Veronica serves as Clinical Faculty covering Medical/ Surgical Division, Telemetry at the Moses Division, Dialysis, Labor& Delivery, & Mother Baby coordinating with ANMs to conduct in-services; providing support for new associates, and consulting on clinical issues. In addition, she teaches Basic Dysarrhythmia, Critical Thinking, Charge Nurse Workshop, Clinical Orientation: NA & RN/LP, CIS: NA, RN, US; Peritoneal Dialysis Workshop. A registered Nurse for 26 years, Veronica joined Montefiore in 1989, and has worked as a Staff Nurse, Patient Care Coordinator Medical Surgical, Telemetry. Veronica received a Masters of Science Degree, Family Nurse Practitioner Degree from the University of Columbia and has two certifications from American Nurses Credentialing Center, Board Certified FNP (FNPBC), and a Medical-Surgical certification (RNBC). She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education with Leadership (Ed.D.) from the University of Phoenix.
