In this way, Link can offer the best of both worlds when it comes to Cloud vs local disk data protection. That is, fast in-house backup and restore, with a secure offsite copy. HOW IT WORKS The Link CloudBackup service includes a hardware backup appliance that is installed at the customer site. All customer on-site servers and workstations are backed up to the on-site backup appliance. The appliance then replicates the stored contents to a replication appliance at the Link Cloud platform. Pricing is based on a consumption model and includes all hardware, software and Cloud services in a single monthly charge.

5 BACKUP AND RECOVERY An effective backup strategy requires keeping a copy of all of your business critical data in a second location in case of system failure, human error or natural disaster. This data lives on physical and virtual servers and user computers. The on-site Link Backup Appliance installs agents on physical servers and user computers that automatically copy business data to the appliance without any user or administrator involvement. The appliance also communicates directly to VMware using its native API to back up virtual machines without having to install an agent on each virtual machine. You can specify which files and folders on each server, user computer or virtual machine are backed up on the schedule you set, and the appliance automatically executes those jobs accordingly. Detailed reports let you know which jobs succeeded and which need to be repeated. Our handy app for ios and Android allows you to monitor your backups from anywhere. Once the onsite backup appliance completes its backups, it then replicates its data to the replication appliance in the Link Cloud, thus providing a complete copy of the primary data appliance in the event of a disaster.
