1 GOAL ONE: STUDENT SUCCESS Objective 1.1: Increase retention rates a minimum of 5 percent per year Objective 1.2: Increase the number of graduates in certificate and associate degree programs 5 percent per year Priority: Prepare students to become successful and independent contributors to society by providing transfer skills for future technical innova Identify professional certification programs or entry level technical skills for developmental students to gain early success in their field Implement and evaluate new general education core curriculum for effectiveness Reduce time to degree by providing access to multiple course sections in multi-campus environment* Provide additional opportunities for students engagement by increasing the number of academic clubs and participation in academic competitions Develop a cost effective means of instruction for low enrollment classes Continue to develop 2+2 and articulation transfer agreements with 4 year institutions in our service region Increase incorporation of technical innovation and delivery methods into curriculum Ensure resource allocation for instructional resources are technologically advanced Increase participation in career and transfer fairs Provide career resources and assistance to match students with appropriate majors and careers goals Increase computer/technology literacy of the underprepared student population Increase online learning capabilities to ensure student success Implement the co-requisite model for math and English courses Roll out & training of online MyBV Degree*+ Enhance and educate on the early alert system for at risk students Develop writing assistance program for technology majors* Offer through ABE preparatory pre-college course work and boot camps to assist adults with entrance to college* Create career pathways for existing programs and create pathways from non-credit workforce to credit academic programs, increasing the number of courses that map into degree optio Priority: Maintain sound assessment program for student learning outcome assessment Investigate job related assessment exams Incorporate industry certifications and nationally normed tests in assessment program Create a data analysis team to investigate data available, share with appropriate entities, and assist in recruitment and retention strategy development* Incorporate sustainability learning outcomes in student assessment process Complete programmatic assessment reports that include the tracking and compiling of accurate student data, internal and external evaluations Provide annual faculty developmental activities with respect to programmatic assessment Provide faculty development for ACBSP accreditation training Maintain current accreditation of each program and seek additional accreditation opportunities Increase Testing Services within the Student Success Centers on both campuses
