3 ACLS CPD Solution The efficient and easy way to manage your CPD requirements for national registration online. The ACLS CPD Solution includes: Minimum 0 hours of CPD activity per year Learning Needs Analysis Learning Plan & Guide Reflective Learning Evaluation Electronic register for other CPD activity Electronic transcript of all CPD activity. 0 to 04 Learning Plans & CPD catalogue You will be automatically enrolled into the modules in the 0 and 03 Learning Plans and be notified by of your enrollment. The Learning Plans are from May to June each year in line with the nurse s registration period. You can also substitute modules in the 0/3 CPD Learning Plans or add to your CPD hours by self-enrolling in any of the modules in the CPD library catalogue. Simply type CPD into the catalogue search bar in the left hand menu after you login to your training area for a full listing of all CPD modules. We recommend that you complete the Elder Abuse, Fire Safety and Medication Management modules annually (as per the CPD Learning Plans) to meet your mandatory aged care education requirements and to ensure that you have the knowledge you need to fulfill your professional responsibilities. 4 ACLS CPD Resources National Registration CPD Requirements ACLS Resources to Meet the CPD Requirements Minimum 0 hours of CPD per year directly relevant to your area of nursing practice Learning outcomes for all CPD activity Reflection on value and effectiveness of CPD activity Aged care specific online CPD activities Activities area in the learning system to record other CPD activity, learning outcomes and reflection Record of learning outcomes for all ACLS modules and other CPD activity Reflection evaluation attached to all ACLS CPD modules. You can also record your reflection for other CPD activities Annual learning needs analysis Online Learning Needs Analysis Annual learning Plan Learning Plan and Guide Evidence of CPD activities All of your CPD activity will be collated and recorded in your electronic transcript Continuing Professional Development for Registered and Enrolled Nurses
5 ACLS Learning Needs Analysis The continuing professional development standard for national registration requires all registered and enrolled nurses to develop an annual CPD learning plan based on prioritizing and identify their learning needs. You will be automatically enrolled into the ACLS Learning Needs Analysis when your subscription begins and then annually on the st March each year. This will allow you time to complete your learning needs analysis prior to renewal of your registration which will be due in May each year. The Learning Needs Analysis module has two parts: The first part is the Learning Needs Analysis module. This will provide you with information to assist with completing the questionnaire. The next part is the Learning Needs Analysis Questionnaire. It has seven questions that require a written response. The instructions for completing the LNA are contained in each question. Once completed the Learning Needs Analysis becomes your Annual Learning Plan for the year and remains in your learner history. The module and questionnaire can be viewed at any time. The Learning Needs Analysis Questionnaire can be printed and completed by hand but cannot be printed once completed online. Continuing Professional Development for Registered and Enrolled Nurses
6 ACLS Learning Plans You are automatically enrolled in the CPD activities in the ACLS Learning Plan. These modules are chosen each year from the ACLS catalogue as directly relevant for the delivery of nursing care to older people. You also have the option of selfenrollment in any of the CPD activities in the CPD catalogue to meet your CPD needs. Continuing Professional Development for Registered and Enrolled Nurses
7 Reflection Evaluation Every CPD activity has a Reflection Evaluation as a milestone of the module. Reflecting on the effectiveness or value of all CPD activity is a requirement of the Continuing Professional development standard for national registration. The Reflection Evaluation: Has both tick the box type questions and short answer questions Once completed the evaluation remains in your learner history as evidence for the CPD requirements for national registration. 8 ACLS Activities Activities is a function where you can record additional continuing professional development that you undertake during the year. For example: conferences, workplace seminars/workshops/education sessions, workplace competency assessment and development, QA meetings, policy/procedure review and development, mentoring others. 9 CPD Transcript The system generates a transcript of all of your continuing professional development activity. CPD hours are automatically collated. Your online CPD activities and other CPD activity that you record in Activities is automatically added to your transcript. Your transcript can be printed or ed.
