THE COMPANY One of the major challenges of our day and age is the efficient and sustainable use of the resources available to us whilst considering the economic and social environment we are living in. In meeting this challenge, we support our customers from the public and industrial sectors as well as from trade and craft SMEs in Austria and abroad in preparing, developing and implementing projects in the fields of energy and environmental technology. Cooperating with experts from energy technology, environmental technology, building physics, business and law, we develop solutions based on an interdisciplinary and integrated approach. Our work focuses on national and international projects dealing with issues of energy efficiency, renewable energy resources and climate protection.

Energy & Climate Protection Energy We develop solutions by looking at buildings, facilities, process technology and user profiles in an integrated way whilst considering economic and ecological parameters. ENERGY EFFICIENCY The efficient use of energy is a significant contribution to reduced operating costs and environmentally friendly activities. We offer advisory services for the public sector, industry as well as trades and crafts in all matters of energy efficiency. These include: municipal and industrial energy supply and optimization plans energy consultancy and participation in subsidized energy advisory programs studies, follow-through and implementation of demonstration projects RENEWABLE ENERGY Often enough, the use of renewable energy resources such as biomass (e.g. wood(chips), crop residues, biogas), thermal solar energy and wind energy is an economically competitive alternative to the use of fossil fuels. Moreover, the use of renewable energy resources contributes significantly to lowering CO2 emissions and thus to reaching national and international targets for the reduction of hothouse gas emissions. We offer spot-on assistance if you want to know more about the economic potential of using renewable energies as well as about funding and grants for installations. ENERGY MANAGEMENT The introduction of an energy management system is indispensable if you seek to optimize the use of energy in a sustainable way. Energy management is more than just the monitoring and analysis of energy consumption. Energy management is the totality of all measures planned and taken to make sure that given levels of convenience and production remain unchanged while the lowest possible quantity of energy is used in the most costeffective way. This includes the formulation of objectives and targets and the development of a custom-tailored energy plan, including a list and timetable of measures; moreover, all parties concerned need to be involved and informed, the planned measures need to be implemented and success needs to be monitored. Apart from a reduction in energy costs and consumption, benefits of an efficient energy management system also include improved cost transparency and frequently lead to a reduction in maintenance and repair costs. We offer interdisciplinary advisory and support services in all stages of implementation and introduction of your energy management system. SUBSIDY MANAGEMENT DYNAMIC BUILDING SIMULATION When building new structures or refurbishing existing ones, low energy consumption and cost optimization are not the only factors to be looked at. Optimum indoor climate is yet another matter worthwhile considering. Specially buildings with facades composed largely of glass panes or structures with high internal heat loads may have problematic room climates and/or high operating costs. Dynamic building simulations can be used to simulate various operating states and execution options for building shells as well as technical installations. Results allow for conclusions to be drawn about the impact of structural physics and building installations on indoor temperature development. Dynamic building simulation is thus an important tool for the integrated optimization of buildings. We offer: calculations and studies of options to avoid overheating in buildings in the summer studies of options in the context of building physics and building installations for new structures as well as for refurbishing existing structures. Energy & Climate Protection Climate Protection EEC is a member of the interdisciplinary platform Austrian Carbon Management (ACM), which was founded in When it comes to developing climate protection strategies and projects in Europe and Asia, EEC cooperates with experts from the platform who specialize in the natural sciences, business, law, technology or financing. WORKING TOGETHER FOR A BETTER ENVIRONMENT JI/CDM PROJECTS EEC provides assistance in all phases of the identification, development and implementation of projects under article 6 (Joint Implementation JI) and article 12 (Clean Development Mechanism CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol. Our services: Development of JI/CDM Projects Preparation of PDD the Key to Success: The PDD (Project Design Document) is a key document which demonstrates the project's eligibility as an activity under article 6 or 12 of the Kyoto Protocol. As a comprehensive description of the project activity the PDD has to identify the technical, commercial, environmental and social impacts of the project. EEC provides an interdisciplinary team of experts with proven experience in elaborating PDDs. Management of the Validation Process: According to the Kyoto Protocol requirements every PDD has to be validated by a DOE/IE. EEC will manage the validation process and interact with the DOE/IE concerning all clarifications that may have to be done during the validation. Host Country Approval: EEC will support during/conduct the preparation and submittal of relevant information to the host country government in order to obtain the Host Country Approval for the JI/CDM project activity. Monitoring and Verification of Emission Reductions: Emission reductions from JI/CDM Projects have to be monitored according to the Monitoring Plan (MP) specified in the PDD. Technical or even organizational failures within the monitoring process come with the risk of non-acceptance of emission reductions, thus leading to a loss of carbon assets. EEC provides expert advise or overtakes the implementation of the Monitoring Plan in order to secure the generation of Carbon Credits and manages the verification process. Identification of JI/CDM Projects Project Feasibility Assessment: EEC will determine/assist you in determining JI/CDM project opportunities that are technically and commercially sound. EEC will analyze the eligibility and the emission reduction value of your project and advise on opportunities to increase the value of the carbon asset. Management of Carbon Assets Commercialization of Carbon Assets: Our goal is to optimize our customer's earnings from selling emission reduction units. EEC is in permanent contact with various governmental and non-governmental buyers of carbon credits. EMISSION TRADING We cooperate with our network partners as we support our customers in commercializing and procuring Carbon Credits (CERs, ERUs, VERs, EUAs) and in all other matters concerning European and International Emission Trading. EEC manages the tendering procedure, evaluates the bids in accordance with the criteria specified jointly with the client and advises on the final selection of the purchaser.
