1 Queensland Level - Requirements 0 CALCULATION OF D SCORE All routines will be from a Difficulty Score of 5.0 (D Score) Complete omission of an element = 0.60 deduction from the D score (i.e. no attempt to perform the element) Attempt an element but don t complete the element or meet the technical r e q u i r e m e n t = 0. 0 d e d u c t i o n f r o m t h e D s c o r e (eg handstand not within 0 degrees or lack of required split) If a series is broken = 0.0 deduction from the D score (as listed throughout) All routines are to be performed in the order listed. If routines are performed in the wrong order, there will be a 0.0 deduction from the D score. There are a small number of replacement skills that can be used as an option. These skills do not carry any bonus points. Skills can only be replaced by a replacement skill with the same number. Coaches may remind gymnasts in Level and if they forget their routine without deduction. Gymnasts in Level will incur the spotting assistance deduction of.00. LEVELS TESTS Clubs can set their own pass marks for Level - If athletes are testing at a sanctioned event then the AA pass mark will be set at: points with a 0.00 point apparatus pass mark. AGE DIVISIONS Age Divisions can be used for competition. The following age divisions are recommended (but are not compulsory): Level - under 7 and Open (as at st January) Level - under 8 and Open Level - under 9 and Open Clubs can be flexible when running competitions whether they use age divisions or not, depending on competitor numbers.

2 Level - may perform vaults, with the highest score to count Any spotting assistance on vault: 0.00 score All level and vaults must be performed with an underarm action. If a clear definitive over arm action is used, there is a.00 deduction by the E panel. If the arms have already reached the vertical position by the time the gymnast reaches the board, it DOES NOT necessarily mean that there has been an over arm action. This is a variation in the arm timing and the.00 deduction should not be taken (unless there is a clear definite over arm action). This deduction DOES NOT APPLY TO LEVEL. All glides must be performed on the low bar. If a gymnast s hips touch the ground during the glide, they may request to raise the low bar. All bent knee swings are to be performed on the low bar. If the gymnast s knees touch the ground during the swing, they may request to raise the low bar. If the low bar is raised to its maximum height and the gymnast still touches the floor with their knees, they may perform bent knee swings on the high bar. Mats must be built up under the high bar to as high as possible, so that it simulates the low bar height. A board or box to 40cm can be used for pullover on bars in Level -. A box or springboard can be used for mounts on Bars. The height of the box should be springboard height approx 0-40 cm. Music Level may use up to 60cm for tuck swings / glide swings / jump to front support. In the Jump to front support in Level, the requirement is for the bar to be around chest height. A large box is not permitted to be used if it raises the chest to above bar height. Additional half turns may be included in the routine to suit the individual gymnast All turns on beam can have optional arm positions There is no time limit for Level - beam routines Beam Height: 05 cm with 0 cm matting or 00cm with cm matting 0cm landing mats are compulsory for Level - Beam Foam Blocks or Spring boards can be used for mounts on Beam. The height of the blocks should be springboard height approx 0-40 cm. All turns on floor can have optional arm positions Additional half turns can be added to suit individual floor patterns Additional dance must not be added to routines There is no deduction for going outside the floor area There is no time limit for Level - floor routines In Level and coach may tell a gymnasts the routine if she forgets without deduction The pose in Level floor (core skill 4) after the split jump is optional No floor music in Level Floor music is optional in Level Floor music is compulsory in Level. No music = 0.50 deduction off final score Clubs must choose their own music It is recommended that gymnasts from the one club use the one piece of music
