14 How to Apply for Medicare You will be automatically enrolled in Medicare Part A effective the month you are 65 Example: If you turned 65 on October 25, 2014, your Medicare effective date would be October 1,

15 How to Apply for Medicare If you are under 65 and receiving SSDI You should enroll during the 7- month period that starts 3 months before your 25th month of getting Social Security disability benefits and ends 3 months after your 25th month of getting disability benefits. 15
