Helsana Business Health Additional service for companies Supports companies with health management Improves well-being and reduces absences Get ready for the professional challenges of demographic changes
Our employees feel better than ever. With the help of Helsana and an employee survey we were able to evaluate pressure within our company and take concrete meas ures to reduce them. This improved the productivity and the motivation of the employees and reduced sick days. We are now better prepared to cope with the challenges of demographic changes. Karl Weiss, staff manager in a manufacturing plant
Harnessing good health to boost your company s success Helsana supports companies and their employees in promoting health in the workplace, absence and generation management. Our health managers will accompany you through three phases from raising awareness to analysis and on to concrete measures to improve well-being, reduce absences and improve success. Good health a major success factor for companies The working world is becoming ever more challenging. Time pressure, information overload, competition and social changes place more and more demands on employees. This leads to an increase in sick days and the consequences thereof. Early psychosomatic warning signals such as depression and stress-related back pain are often not taken seriously soon enough and alongside occupational accidents and illnesses can lead to long-term time away from work. This does not only place a burden on social services but also on companies. Act now and you can improve your chances of coping with demographic changes as well. Managing health at work forms part of the strategy of today s companies, with the aim of reducing workplace absences and improving employee health, well-being, performance and motivation. It includes all kinds of measures from both employers and employees to improve health and well-being in the workplace. Successfully managing health at work is done by combining improvements within workplace organisation and conditions, encouraging employees to take part in the process and by encouraging personal skills. Company success factors In the future, a company s success will be based on the good health of its employees. Therefore a comprehensive health management programme should form part of your management strategy. Employees are shown early on ways of optimising their work and personal surroundings. Their working situation will be improved in such a way that they stay healthy too. Stable finances Healthy employees Satisfied customers Helsana will support you with a comprehensive workplace health management programme and will provide you with your own health manager, who will tailor-make you a workplace health management programme based on the size, sector and needs of your company.

Benefits of workplace health promotion Investing in promoting workplace health management pays dividends in the long term. Promoting health provides the chance to increase employee motivation and performance and thus guarantee and even increase productivity. Workplace health management can help reduce workplace stresses and strains, along with improving employees attitude to health. This in turn lowers health-related costs for the company, for example by cutting down on absences. Health management as a process Raising awareness As a first step, Helsana will raise awareness amongst company management. Basic links between work and health will be demonstrated, the content of the workplace health management programme will be presented and the opportunities and potential stumbling blocks when introducing such a programme will be shown. Analysis Health managers will support the company in carrying out a comprehensive analysis. The results will show the resources and pressures within the company. This means you can recognise where the health management programme needs to be implemented most. The results of the analysis will be worked on with the employees. Health pressures will be identified and measures will be jointly drawn up to reduce these pressures or to avoid them completely. With Helsana Business Health, passive bystanders are turned into active participants. Different analysis tools will be available depending on the size of your company and the focus points.
«Thanks to the Helsana workshop attended by our employees, we realised with greater clarity that we should place a stronger emphasis on health. We found this external input very valuable.» Heinz Gutmann, member of the management board of a consulting company
Measures Our health managers will accompany you in reducing those pressures identified in the analysis. The following areas will show you how to implement a complete health management programme in a sustainable fashion. Overview of measures Workplace health promotion Working arrangements Organisational development Stress and resource management Movement, nutrition, relaxation Ergonomics and back health Addiction prevention Workplace health management aims to cut workplace absences and so improve employee well-being. Absence management Software support Back-to-work meetings (management training) Advantages for your company Reduction of absences and increased productivity Reduction of costs for continuing salary payments and therefore lower insurance premiums Better working atmosphere as a result of improved employee motivation Improved company loyalty and the attractiveness of your company Employees identify more strongly with the company Combining the spirit of innovation of the young with the experience of the older employees Advantages for your employees Workplace health management offers employees better protection against accidents and illnesses Increased well-being improves employees motivation Your employees will see you as an innovative, employee-friendly company Absences can lead to disruptions and pressures within your company. Not to mention the costs involved. Therefore it s in your interest to manage absences, recognise the causes thereof and take the necessary measures to deal with them. Generation management Analysis of age structure Define areas of action Advice for long-term planning In the future it will be important for companies to cope with demographic changes through healthy employees. This means companies must shape the working lives of their employees to ensure they remain fit and healthy even in their later years.
