1 Environmental Sciences The Major: The Environmental Sciences major, offered jointly by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, encourages an appreciation for the integration of science and society. Majors develop a strong foundation in the basic sciences and advanced knowledge in the environmental sciences. Active research programs help majors better understand the environment and environmental problems. Through application of scientific methods of inquiry, majors develop the analytic skills and technical knowledge to strategize about problems of environmental importance. The Environmental Sciences Bachelor of Science degree program provides majors with the technical abilities, the creativity, and the sensitivity to slow further degradation of our natural resources and loss of biological diversity.
