1 The Federal Bureau of Investigation s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division is hosting Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) training at the CJIS Complex located in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The training will be August 7-8, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Complete training will be provided on both the Summary and National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Programs based upon the reporting system used by confirmed attendees. Detailed instruction will be provided on the Hierarchy, Separation of Time and Place, and Acting in Concert Rules, offense definitions, classifying and scoring procedures, crimes against persons, property, and society, jurisdiction guidelines, and data elements and values. Additionally, there will be individuals available to speak regarding audit and data quality, as well as recent and future UCR Program initiatives. Attendees will also have the opportunity to request an emphasis on specific areas that will allow the CJIS Division to focus on the specific training needs of attendees. Attendees are asked to complete the attached Training Content Questionnaire and return it with their registration form. The training will be provided free of charge. However, all travel costs associated with attendance will be the responsibility of the attendee s agency. Attendance will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will be limited to the first 32 registrations received from Summary participants and the first 32 registrations received from NIBRS participants. All participants must register to attend this training no later than July 01, The CJIS Complex is located in Clarksburg, West Virginia. It is approximately a 1 hour and 45 minute drive from the Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). There is also a local regional airport. The North Central West Virginia Airport (CKB) is located 10 minutes from the complex. A block of rooms has been secured at the rate of $77, plus tax per night at the Wingate hotel located at 350 Conference Center Way, Bridgeport, WV. This hotel is located just outside the FBI CJIS Complex. To secure a room at the $77 rate, please call (304) and reference the FBI CJIS Training or the Group Code: CGFBI3. Please make your reservation prior to July 01, After the deadline, you may not be granted a room at the government rate or guaranteed a room at the hotel. Cancellations must be made 24 hours or more prior to arrival date or you will be charged one night s lodging and taxes. All visitors to the CJIS Complex must be approved prior to their visit. The attached CJIS Division Visitor Request Form must be returned with your registration in order to obtain clearance to access the CJIS Complex. All visitors are also required to stop at the Visitor s Center located off I-79, Exit 124 to the right of the entrance gates daily. They must show government-issued photo identification prior to entering the Complex. Cellular phones are permitted but taking photos of any kind is expressly forbidden. (Laptops are permitted with the signing of a virus scanning waiver but are not necessary for this training. The waiver is provided as an attachment to this registration. If you plan to bring a laptop, please complete the waiver, and bring the original waiver form with you each day.) IPads and Tablets are permitted, however, all WIFI capabilities and blue tooth signals must be deactivated. Personal thumb drives are prohibited. Dress is business casual.
