Complaints Handled: Beth Ombati vs. Ashford University (Online) - 2/23/ Ashford agreed to cancel all of costs for attending and to return all financial aid. Morelia Meyer vs. East-West Healing Arts Institute, Inc. - 1/5/ Given East-West efforts to obtain ABHES accreditation, many institutional improvements made which address issues raised by complainants. EAB letter noted several ongoing concerns: interdependency of East- West and Dr. Zhou's Clinic and role and authority of School Administrator. Harris Blake vs. Herzing University - 1/20/ Herzing will refund the additional $952 it charged. Sara Motwani vs. Herzing University - 3/2/ Herzing's policy is that nursing courses must be passed at 76% or higher. 6
7 Aaron Cooper vs. ITT Technical Institute - Green Bay - 3/2/ ITT recognized its issue with this course and provided both make-up sessions and the opportunity to retake the entire course. Sandra Griffin and Chyrel Randall vs. Springfield College - 2/10/ Dean Willey investigated and found Springfield had failed its Milwaukee students in the Mental Health Counseling concentration to obtain practicums and took prompt steps to ensure the 33 enrolled students were meeting Springfield's standards for practicums. By early February, all students on track and Ms. Griffin and Ms. Randall Have individual contracts and practicums so they can finish degree requirements end of April. SaVera Henderson vs. Upper Iowa University - 2/21/ Ms. Henderson received an internship from Easter Seals of Waukesha. Upper Iowa amended it internship policy and procedures so it would help students seeking internships by vetting agencies and referring students to appropriate agencies until all students had internships.
