It is often, however, difficult for patients to develop and maintain new behaviors. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a person-centered, goal-oriented method of communication designed to elicit and strengthen intrinsic motivation for positive change. MI has been shown to be effective in assisting patients in developing and maintaining a wide variety of healthy behaviors. This training workshop is designed to build attendees knowledge of, and skills in MI.
