Company president Mark Reimann joined the firm in 1985 and has been using Meyer Sound systems since. LEO s competitive advantage is explained by Reimann, general manager Derek Mahaffey, and account representative Chris Barrington. Our first Meyer boxes are still in service 30 years later. They still sound good, and they re still making us money. Knowing how Meyer Sound does things, buying LEO was a no-brainer. LEO has helped us get into larger scale touring in Canada, with more name acts. Not just any rental firm has LEO. Our association with it helps marketing. 6 LYON Power and Clarity in a Smaller Package One size definitely doesn t fit all. Following the success of LEO, Meyer Sound engineers went to work on a more scalable system with a mandate to retain extraordinary power but reduce weight and size. With elegant design, state-of-the-art technology, and LEO s legendary linearity, LYON packs a powerful punch in a smaller and more versatile package. At just 38 inches wide, LYON s flexibility, scalability, and ultra-low distortion make it an indispensable tool for a wide variety of projects, from concert halls to arenas, from classical to EDM. LYON s two configurations offer different solutions. Use LYON-M to anchor installations or put it to work in partnership with LEO-M as a fill array. 7 Lyon, for the best-sounding show Adam Stermer Technical Director, Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center Adam Stermer is technical director of the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center, at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. A LYON system was recently installed in the Center s 1300-seat Jemison Concert Hall. This concert hall is one of the best acoustic rooms in the nation. The Alabama Symphony Orchestra, in residence here, is never amplified. But we present some 40 shows a season by top-echelon artists who are amplified, such as Herbie Hancock and Jonny Lang. We now have a sound system as good as the room itself. With some variation, every rider specifies a sound level of 110 db at every seat, undistorted, with only a small variation between any two seats, front to back. A line array is the perfect solution to satisfy the artist. And it s our business. We want the best-sounding show. On a recent advance, an artist who demands the utmost audio quality and whose show therefore travels with its own PA system left the PA on the truck when I told the artist s crew what we offer. That conversation took 20 seconds. It saves me a labor call, ten hands, and time. Every advance I do will be easier. I simply say we have a LYON array, tuned by Meyer Sound. Custom GuideALinks couple LEO Family enclosures for flying, stacking, or transport and make choice of angle positions fast and safe. Multipurpose grids enable loudspeakers to be flown or ground-stacked in numerous configurations. With grids and pull-back frames, arrays are oriented for maximum downtilt or uptilt.
