4 1. The HR-Blogs Online-Recruiting.net and SocialMedia- Recruiting.com About the Author My name is Eva Zils, I am a native German and have been living in France for the past ten years. In 2004 I started working in the branch of global online recruiting, amongst others in the international HR communication agency Aktor Interactive in Lyon. I am, amongst other things, consulting companies in their online recruitment media choices and am elaborating strategic media planning. You will find further services here: In 2007 I have started blogging about news in the international online recruitment landscape, mainly about job boards, social recruitment, HR events and mobile recruiting. With the years, my reputation as an expert in the field of international online recruitment media and strategy has grown. I have given a number of interviews to specialised HR magazines (on- and offline), have written quite a few guest post for fellow bloggers and have published some market reports (e.g. on social media recruitment in Germany and Switzerland) and white papers. You will find more on this in my Pressbook: Since 2012 I am working as a freelancer, in order to concentrate on the expansion of my news portals and my consulting work. In 2013 I have written a chapter as a co-author in the manual for recruiters, Praxishandbuch Social Media Recruiting which will be released at the end of October 2013 by the German publishing company Springer Gabler. In my chapter I am describing job portals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with regard to their social recruitment products. 5 About the HR blogs I launched while I was working at Aktor Interactive s in I had started in the company in 2004 and had been both a marketer/employee in communications and a sales consultant. This double job function came to an end in 2006 when my client portfolio had exploded and when it was time to decide whether I wanted to pursue the marketing/communications tasks or to continue my way in business development. I chose the consultative sales approach. Before long, I missed my former writing activities. That s when I created Online-Recruiting.net. My objective was to combine my writer s abilities by describing and commenting on the international job board landscape and my consulting work. The concept did pay off. Online-Recruiting.net figures among the first-launched and leading German-speaking HR-Blogs. With the advent of social media and their increasing role in modern recruitment, many other recruiting blogs saw the light of day. At this moment, in 2011, I launched my second recruitment-related news portal, Today, both blogs enjoy a good and healthy reputation in the highly specialised niche of international online recruitment. 4
