3 Our Services FOCUS GROUPS: Two or more panels of participants, demographically similar to the venire, consider case facts, witnesses, and exhibits. Their discussions are moderated and videotaped. We analyze the data and make recommendations. An informative, costeffective tool for identifying themes, key issues, and strengths and weaknesses of a case. MOCK TRIALS: Multiple panels of mock jurors who, for one to three days, are exposed to comprehensive case presentations before deliberating to a verdict. Deliberations are taped, and mock jurors are interviewed. Our analytical report discusses the deliberation dynamics and key issues, strengths, and weaknesses that should be addressed before taking a case to trial. The more rigorous design used for mock trials enhances the power of the research. ATTITUDE SURVEYS: A powerful tool for investigating attitudes of potential jurors in a given jurisdiction through a large-scale telephone survey. Especially useful for estimating case outcome, deriving themes, and identifying deselection criteria. We develop the questionnaire, supervise administration, perform statistical and qualitative analyses, report the results, and assist in weaving the information into your case presentation. CASE ANALYSIS: Insightful, in-depth analysis of your case by our team of lawyers and social scientists regarding key facts and issues provides more than just a fresh, outside perspective. This process helps you focus on the human dynamics of your case, and assists in developing the tactics and strategies that most appeal to jurors. THEME DEVELOPMENT: An effective theme focuses jurors on important case issues and prevents them from becoming lost when complex facts confront them. We identify and develop the themes that will resonate with jurors. WITNESS PREPARATION: Using psychological, sociological, and communications theory approaches, we analyze witnesses performance to identify confusing messages, ambivalent cues, and poor communication techniques. VOIR DIRE: Identify undesirable jurors using well-conceived questions derived from our wide experience and database of questions. SUPPLEMENTAL JUROR QUESTIONNAIRES: Juror questionnaires supplement standard voir dire in high-profile cases and complex litigation, or litigation involving sensitive issues. We use social science methodology to assist attorneys in creating questionnaires that increase the probability that potential jurors will fully and honestly disclose pertinent information about themselves.

OBSERVATION AND MONITORING: Assists in providing an objective perspective regarding case progress, using insights derived from social science principles.
