3 To sign the tenancy agreement for your new Council home you will be given an appointment at our Sutton Gate office. Please see the location map and details in this guide. If you have any special access needs or requirements, please contact Sutton Housing Partnership s Voids and Allocations team on: Freephone Your appointment will usually be with the Neighbourhood Manager responsible for managing properties in the area. The Income Manager responsible for collecting the rent in your area will also discuss with you the different payment options we offer and give advice about housing benefit. Please allow up to one hour for this appointment as we need time to explain the tenancy agreement, as it is an important legal document. Please bring proof of identity, your National Insurance Number and proof of income/benefits when you attend the appointment. Your tenancy will start on the Monday following the viewing or after the property is ready for letting. You will be required to pay a minimum of a weeks rent in advance, please ensure you bring with you some means of payment (we accept cheque, debit/credit card and cash). Please note that any private garden attached to your property is accepted as seen and will be your responsibility to clear and maintain as necessary. Tenancy sign-up information checklist Please bring the following information with you, when you come to sign your Tenancy Agreement. This will ensure that appropriate advice can be given to you regarding your Housing Benefit entitlement and how much rent you need to pay. It will also enable us to assist you in ensuring any Housing Benefit application is processed as soon as possible. 3
4 Proof of ID (two needed) for each tenant Birth Certificate Marriage Certificate Passport National Insurance Card Medical Card Driving Licence UK Residence Permit EEC Identity Card Proof of savings and investments (including any held for children ) Bank Statements for the last two months Building Society Book(s) Post Office Book(s) Premium Bond Certificate(s) National Savings Certificate(s) ISA s Proof of Stocks, Shares & Unit Trusts Proof of Earnings Last five wage slips (if weekly paid) Last three wage slips (if fortnightly paid) Last two wage slips (if monthly paid) If you are self-employed accounts for the last financial year Proof of other income Pension slips from a former employer or spouses former employer Proof of maintenance you receive (i.e. letter from Court) Proof of Benefits, Allowances or Pensions Child Benefit award letter State Retirement Pension award letter(s) Pension Credit award letter(s) Disability Benefits award letter(s) Tax Credits award letter Income Support/Jobseekers Allowance award letter Proof of Income for any other adults Living in your home (as above) Tick 4
