This internal succession planning programme established an official framework from within which the company can hire former employees on a contractor basis. The new supply strategy revised the PSL model by dramatically rationalising the supply chain and realigning categories to support requirements estimated over the 3 year contract period to exceed c1, 500 Agency staff and c850 permanent requirements. Over the course of this partnership CCFE has enjoyed a wide range of benefits including quicker time-to-hire, control and visibility, process efficiencies and the provision of suitably qualified individuals with the right skills and cultural fit, every time. This has been achieved by harnessing the skills and experience of our team on site. Project snapshot Alstom Transport Project requirement: Agency Supplied Workers Contract value: 8m Key benefit to client: Seamless migration with no disrpution to operations In 2004 we won the Sole Supplier contract to provide all technical agency staff at a time when Alstom was using more than 180 agency workers supplied by 56 agencies. In line with strict pre-agreed deadlines, we planned and implemented a large-scale migration on a depot-by-depot basis. The end result was the seamless migration of more than 180 workers, on time, and with no negative impact on Alstom s business. Petro Chemical The petrochemical industry is a mature sector where core skills covering engineering, chemical and process are constantly in demand by the majority of sectors within the industry. The sector is extremely Health & Safety conscious and, as such, many companies adopt the Safety Passport as a key qualification that underpins the engineering, chemical and process skills required. Over the course of the project we successfully supplied SMS with a total of 47 Meter Operators/ Technicians and 29 Meter Readers, also taking responsibility for making sure every one of them satisfied Scottish Basic Disclosure requirements in line with the client s operating policy. 31
