2 I wanted to thank all of you for being such an important part of my life. I never would have made it through my battles with a positive outlook if I wasn t a Sunshine Kid. I hope you all know that the work each and every one of you do has such a profound impact on our lives. I m so thankful to be a small part of the Sunshine Kids Family! Sunshine Kid Houston, TX Mission The Sunshine Kids Foundation adds quality of life to children with cancer by providing them with exciting, positive group activities, so they may once again do what Kids are meant to do...have fun and celebrate life! Goal We look forward to the day when the Sunshine Kids Foundation will no longer need to exist. Until that time, the entire Sunshine Kids family is dedicated to providing the most exciting activities, trips and events for as many young cancer patients as possible. 2

3 Dear Friends, A Message from our Board Chairperson As I reflect on my years serving the Sunshine Kids as a volunteer, coordinator, and now a board member, it has caused me to question what makes the Sunshine Kids Foundation such a passionate and cohesive organization. Twenty-five years ago, I remember being a guest in a board meeting as our mission statement was being revisited. The result simply states, The Sunshine Kids Foundation adds quality of life to children with cancer by providing them with exciting, positive group activities, so they may once again do what Kids are meant to do... have fun and celebrate life! Our staff, volunteers, supporters, nurses, medical representatives and friends all over the country have enabled thousands of Kids to do just that. The unique thing about this foundation is that the experience doesn t end with the activity. Kids fighting cancer from across North America have built lifelong friendships with the Kids they met on Sunshine Kid trips and events. Our board of directors recently attended the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices National Convention in Dallas, Texas. At the convention were Spokeskids past, present and future representing twenty-five years of affiliation with this great company. We cannot possibly express how much we appreciate all that BHHS has done for the Sunshine Kids Foundation. Our mission statement would be greatly diminished without their support. Also attending the convention in support of the Sunshine Kids was the cast of Major Crimes, the TNT hit television series. The commitment, dedication and generosity of not only the cast, but also that of the crew and production company adds to the impact that they and all of our supporters and volunteers bring to the Sunshine Kids family, which as a result has created this passionate and cohesive organization. On behalf of our board of directors, let me say to all in our family, and especially to the Kids, thank you, thank you, thank you! All the volunteers and coordinators went above and beyond to give us a great experience and made us feel like a part of a family. I will never forget the things we did or the people I met. 7 Angela Ortiz - Homestead, FL National Spokesperson, Craig Biggio Baseball Hall of Famer 2015 Spokesperson Throughout his career, former Houston Astros player Craig Biggio has supported the Sunshine Kids Foundation. Since 2003, he has proudly served as the National Spokesperson helping to bring joy, laughter and smiles to countless Kids and their families. Together with his wife, Patty, they have helped raise millions of dollars through a host of fundraising events making it possible to create more opportunities for children across the country. In 2015, Craig was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. It is our honor to congratulate him on this outstanding accomplishment and thank him and his family for the many years of love and commitment to children battling cancer.
