26 NATIONAL AFFILIATIONS Dear Friends & Colleagues: The American Academy of Medical Esthetic Professionals (AAMEP) formerly the Association of Medical Esthetic Nurses (AMEN) organization, a non-profit professional organization, was founded by a group of committed nurse colleagues across the country motivated by common goals to address the needs of this new emerging specialty of esthetic medicine and medical esthetic nursing which has been confronted with unprecedented challenges such as; undefined standards of practice, accelerating technological changes, professional liability issues, insurance coverage, as well as legislative dysfunction. MISSION STATEMENT The mission and goal of the Association of Medical Esthetic Nurses is to promote the highest standard of practice in Medical Esthetic Nursing and to enhance professional growth through education, certification, scientific inquiry and research, and facilitate the dissemination of current information, technical skills, and expertise. AMEN recognizes the importance of alliance with all specialties that practice esthetic medicine, and it is through this alliance and sharing that facilitates positive growth and mutual respect in the medical esthetic arena. Take charge of your professional career! Join A.M.E.N. today!
