1 TRANSFER AGREEMENT BETWEEN LARAMIE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY Laramie County Community College (LCCC) and Colorado Mesa University (CMU) hereby enter into the following agreement to co-develop and adopt public policy statements governing transfer between Associate of Science (AS) degree with emphasis in K-12 Teaching offered at LCCC and the Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology, Concentration in K-12 Teaching, degree program offered at CMU. Course transfer acceptance determination is outlined in Section II. Students appl)i ng under this agreement will still need to meet minimum CMU application requirements and will follow all application procedures as outlined in the Colorado Mesa University catalog. Any additional requirements specific to the degree program here listed will be addressed in the agreement. All CMU academic policies will apply. SECTION I: ADMISSIONS CRJTERJA AND PROCEDURES A. CMU admission standards and criterja Applicants who apply for the CMU Baccalaureate major as outlined in this agreement must have completed or be in the last year of the LCCC Associate of Science (AS) degree and must have followed the LCCC degree/graduation plan included as Appendix A. l. Applicants who have not been awarded the AS degree are not covered under this agreement. 2. Once accepted into the baccalaureate program, students must receive a grade of "C" or better in all major courses. B. Treatment of GPA earned and LCCC The letter grades on courses from LCCC accepted for transfer by CMU will appear on the Colorado Mesa transcript as transfer courses. The grade point average earned at I.CCC shall be used solely for the purpose of admission to CMU and to the baccalaureate program. Only grades and credits awarded at CMU will be used in calculating a student's GPA for graduation. C. Admission oflccc students with prior transfer credits Use by LCCC of credit hours earned at a school other than LCCC will not affect the admissibility of the student with the completed AS degree. Usage of these courses at CMU may fall under conditions depicted in Section H of this agreement and may be reviewed on a course-by-course basis. SECTION 11: TRANSFER OF CREDIT A. Admissibility of priqr_transfcr credjt courses Students who receive the AS degree from LCCC but fulfilled some of the credit hours at another institution are subject to the following conditions: I. Transfer courses accepted by LCCC must be from a regionally accredited institution. 2 CMU reserves the right to evaluate on a course-by-course basis any LCCC accepted transfer courses for use towards portions of the baccalaureate degree requirements. B. CMU treatment of AP exarris, CLEP Scores and other non-traditional credit in transfer Non-traditional credits awarded by LCCC may include high school Advanced Placement (AP) exams, College Level Examination Program (CLEP) subject examinations and military credit.
2 Credit awarded by LCCC through these means must follow CMU established non-traditional credit policies before receiving credit towards the baccalaureate degree. The total combination of any non-traditional credit toward any CMU baccalaureate degree cannot exceed 30 semester credits. C. Number of credit hours accepted in transfer by CMU A minimum of 62 semester credit hours will be accepted under this agreement when the student has followed the LCCC program as it appears in Appendix A and been awarded the AS degree. Students will need to complete the number of credit hours shown in the tables in Appendix 8 to meet baccalaureate degree requirements. l. Students who may have taken LCCC courses that did not apply to the AS degree program may request that courses be considered on a course-by-course basis. Lower division transfer courses can be considered for students who declare a minor. 2. All courses considered for transfer must have been awarded a minimum letter grade of "C" or better. SECTION III: DEGREE/PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS A. CMU policies_ggverning Essential Leaming (General Education), Kinesiology and other Lower Division requirements I. All baccalaureate level degrees at CMU require a minimum of 31 semester credit hours of Essential Learning Core requirements distributed in seven (7) areas as detennined by the Colorado Commission of Higher Education 2. The kinesiology graduation requirement consists of three (3) one-credit hour courses and is required in this baccalaureate degree programs. 3. Other Lower Division requirements consists of 4 credit hours of Essential Learning Capstone and Speech courses (Milestone courses) as is required of all baccalaureate degree programs. 4. LCCC courses will be transferred as substituting for the CMU courses according to Appendix B. SECTION IV: INSTITUTIONAL RESPONSrBfLITIES A.
