10 Curriculum First Year Select two out of four tracks [ 7(1-2)]: Business Networks, Process Management, Business Intelligence and Information Management. Each track consists of four modules Each module is four hours weekly per semester Each module is worth 6 credit points Goal: 30 credit points per term (4 track and 1 elective lecture) Determination of tracks by PAM registration implicitly 9

11 Curriculum Second Year Third term: Project Seminar 12 CP [ 7(3)] Remaining elective modules (containing at least 2 seminars (6 CP each) and 1 elective lectures) [ 7(4)] Fourth term: Master s thesis 30 CP [ 7(3)] 10

15 Register for an Examination Registration required for all relevant exams [ 10(6)] Use the PAM s online service, Register in person or Send an authorized person Don t forget to check the display at the PAM and the website of the PAM Room / Lecture hall will be announced two weeks before the exams Seat will be announced on a display in front of the lecture hall on the day of the exam 14

16 Cancelation, Absence and Cheating Deregistration until 14 days before the exam [ 10(6)] Missing (without good reason) implies failing the exam [ 21(1)] Exceptions only in case of good reason [ 10(6)]: PAM has to be notified (in written form & immediately) [ 21(2)] When falling ill a sick certificate is needed [ 21(2)] Cheating implies failing the exam [ 21(3)] Using non-allowed aids implies cheating [ 21(3)] Disrupting an examination may lead to exclusion from and failing the exam [ 21(3)] 15

17 Taking Exams Exams may be either [ 10(2)] in written or oral form, include doing homework or in-house exercises, project-work, internships or scientific talk using presentation slides. 16

18 Passing Exams Passing (otherwise failing) a module [ 16(3)] Two attempts for every exam [ 16(2)] Third attempts for exams summing up to 12 credit points [ 16(2)] 2 third attempts possible, but that shouldn t be used at all! Consider that even after the first failure Inspection!!! Exam results are reset when changing track [ 16(4)] Third trials are kept when changing track [ 16(4)] Grades are announced via the online service of the PAM Official grades are announced via display at the PAM Inspection of graded material [ 20] on a fixed date and time as announced by PAM on request within two weeks after announcement of the grade 17

19 Acceptance of External Exams Credit points for exams in the same degree program are accepted right away [ 14(1)] Credit points for exams in different programs are accepted when equal in content, size and standard [ 14(2)] Grades are not credited but printed on the master s certificate, naming the school where the exam was taken [ 14(5)] No more than 60 credit points [ 14(5)] When studying abroad, check with the PAM before you leave. 18

21 Master s Thesis Beginning requires 60 credit points [ 11(3)] Time-Frame: 16 weeks (up to 22 weeks) [ 11(4)] Topic can only be returned once and within four weeks of the time-frame [ 11(4)] Evaluation by two examiners and within eight weeks [ 12(2-3)] Master s thesis can be redone on a different topic when failed [ 16(6)] 20

22 Grading Scale Exams are graded on: 1.0; 1.3; 1.7; 2.0; 2.3; ; 3.7; 4.0; 5.0 [ 17(1)] Modules are graded with weighted averages cut off after the first decimal [ 17(2)] For the overall grade exams worth 120 credit points are used to calculate the grade [ 17(3)] In addition a grading on the ECTS-Scale is done [ 17(4)] 21

23 Master of Science in Information Systems If all exams are passed, a master s certificate [ 18(3)], grade report [ 18(1)] and diploma supplement [ 19] are issued Master s grade report [ 18(1)]: Title of the master s thesis, Grade of the master s thesis, Overall and ECTS-scaled grade, Duration of study, Name and grade of passed modules. 22

24 PIN/TAN-Codes Students who already have PIN/TAN-Codes can keep and use their old PIN/TAN-Codes Other students, please come up front and receive your PIN/TAN-Codes every registration for an exam needs to be signed by a TAN Note your transaction number! 23
